“great hotel....one downfall!!!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 August 2014

Welcome was outstanding, rooms were clean and well presented and maid was very polite . Every day this hotel does a themed buffet night advertised on the entrance and down by the bar for a price stated on the poster, however you can not have this meal unless you have paid for half board!!!!! So when I asked about theprice on the poster they could not answer my question and aftera good 20 mins explaining it was our first night and that thekids were getting hungry they let us pay and we ate feeling like we were being watched the whole time we were there. Picking up our passports thenext morning we were spoketolike criminals withthe guyasking us why we expectedto eat for free......obviously this was not the case since we paid...but the cheekand attitute from someone who should have A* customer service skills was appalling...on top of that during our argument he answered the phone.... terribleidea!!! But once this wasover our holiday began and it was great. The pool wasamazing, the kids loved it. The night entertainer leo was excellent and the one guy who topped off our holiday was jorge a bartender in the hotel hewas funny, polite, greatwith the kids. My son still talks about how "awesome he was".definatly acredit to the revoli hotel......maybes some of theother staffshould takealeaf out of his book and do their job without insulting paying customers.

Room Tip: Id say floors 4-5 are best

Upon arrival (around 10pm) we were treated by Bianca our Rep and the reception staff. We we were quickly checked in and in our room. The room I must say was one of the most modern I have seen abroad for a long time. Minimal white furniture, pleasant soft furnishings, spacious and almost spotlessly clean.

We had a quick wander down the hill into town to grab a bite to eat. It was about a 5-6 minute walk where we met with a heavily commercialised area. It served its purpose for that night, but wasn't really our cup of tea so we rarely went there again. Instead, we chose to spend most of our evenings down by the harbour side of the Beach or sometimes even had a walk down to Amadores beach where the restaurants were of far better quality. We particularly recommend the Greek and the Italian restaurant near the harbour.

Access to the beach from the hotel - turn left out of the hotel and you will come to some steps (191 in total!) this will take you directly to the beach and if you carry on over the bridge, this takes you to Amadores - about a 30 min walk but well worth it.

The pool area at the hotel was lovely and clean. Even though it was a large area, it was quite cramped with all sunbathers literally crammed in like a tin of sardines! I had to giggle to myself at 8am in the morning watching everyone standing by the beds piled up, possessively with their arms draped over the stack of beds! It was quite cringey to be honest. We only ever went down at 9am and still managed to get beds with shade.

The entertainment at the hotel seemed good and just the right amount - although we didn't take advantage that too much. The kids went to the kids club twice and it was the most organised and safest i have ever seen a kids club - they really enjoyed themselves as well.

We never ate in the hotel and took advantage of the plentiful restaurants down by the beach. It was only the second to last night that we discovered the Europa Centre on top of the hill. Again, this was not really our thing but it was a much better environment than the centre in the town. The kids loved the cabaret acts up there.

We were very luck with the location. Most of Puerto Rico is set on an extremely steep hill. The Revoli is only up the first section, so to those people who have moaned about it - I would say shut up and get walking, it ain't that bad.

All in all, we would really recommend the Revoli. It is good value for money, has enough facilities, great showers, large balconies, good location, well run hotel.

We've cone back from a fantastic holiday looking to go again!
The hotel is recently refurbished and we found the rooms and general areas to be of high standard.

The reception staff were polite and helpful as were all the hotel staff. We chose breakfast and we enjoyed the quality and quantity - would recommend this addition. The dinner was OK which we used when we'd dropped off both kids at kids club but there's so much better to have out either in the main town or down by the beach. The restaurant staff do hassle you so all the Rep or other guests for tips. We liked the streak bar/Italian down by the Beach, San Miguel and there's some great Chinese buffet restaurants. So great variety for c10 Euros pp.

The Rep was great and the Entertainment was fab with my kids loving Leo - although he might not be to everyone's taste . He's definitely on the go all day so there's always something to do. We liked the midday Aqua exercisable.

The weather is a bearably dry heat and the pools were clean. They'd taken feedback about the sunbed issue where it appeared all were being filled by 8am.... So with that only drawback resolved it was a faultless holiday!

Room Tip: High up (floor 3+) so you have a view over the sea and away from entertainment

Visited Revoli July, on arrival greeted by Thomson rep Bianca, who made sure of speedy check in, rooms spotless & nice size, we went self catering so can't comment on food but bar snacks looked nice, there is plenty of things going on here for most of the day with Leo the entertainer, also there the Kids club with Little Leaha & JemJem who were brilliant, Leaha did face painting & our kids loved the chocolate party all in all a good holiday, if you've a young family & need to keep kids happy, I would recommend ...

Just back from 10 day's at the Revoli and loved every minute of it. Staff are amazingly friendly, from maids, bar staff, restaurant, reception and especially Leo, the Gloucester entertainer. He made our stay there! Our room was very clean, maids everyday except 2, was also very modern and had everything needed, even free air con. The safe worked out 2 euros a day plus a 10 euro deposit, which you obviously get back. Food was great, cheap and plenty of happy hours, the last 1 being from 9pm - midnight. Food from the bar could be put in a takeaway box to eat on sun lounger by the pool if not wanted at the bar. Supermartket on site, could buy lunch/alcohol etc and take by the pool. Easy walking distance to the beach and to the centre. Taxi to Amadores beach which is lush was 3 1/2 euros. (dead cheap) Gran Canaria is a TAX FREE island so everything's cheap. We'd recommend (if eating in town) going to the Miami or Planet steakhouses, very cheap and the steaks (and everything else for that matter) are huge and delicious, the staff there are also very very friendly! Last day we went to the Fat Pig and had a 'fry up', totally English and great mug of tea, very welcome after 9 day's of alcohol. Gutted to be home and definately a serious contender for next year's holiday, especially since I've just heard how expensive it is now in the Balearics.
Just a note, if anybody wishes to go to Aqualand in Maspolomas (the aqua park in Peurto rico is no longer there) then be prepared for long queues at the bus stop, buses only run every half hour to there til midday, and on return, they only run every hour,(finishing around 5pm) hence we left quite early to avoid the mayhem like there was when going there and you end up missing out on a lot of the day, also, we were told that you couldn't take food in, but, we took a large bag for our towels etc and nobody checked or asked if we had food so I'm pretty sure you can take what you like.
In all, a great holiday, Thankyou to all at the Revoli!!!

Room Tip: Higher room's probably have a better view and are quieter as the entertainment is on the ground...
