“How to share your holiday with the locals”
Reviewed 29 July 2010

Do you enjoy accommodation that looks like a throw back to the 70's? Thumping night club music until 6am? A pool monolopolised by the owners extended family? The sweet aroma of sewage and drains? and nightly visits by the local wildlife? Then this is the place for you!!!
The bungalow is the most basic of basics decorated in orange yellow and brown retro stripes with curtains that are threadbear and furniture that is rigid. Door Frames and windows are mismatched with large gaps and catches that don't work. 50 meters from the shopping centre the night clubs and bars keep you awake until at least 5am this mixed with the heat at night with no air con doesn't make for rest and relaxation. The small pool was taken over by more than a dozen of the owners family for at least 4 days making use of it very difficult. Too much water down the shower drains - you could smell the sewage and waste in the drains outside when people showered; televisions that you have to pay a meter for; and the cherry on the top - COCKROACHES - 2 inches long that ran around and crawled on you in the night and an owner that knew they were there but did nothing about them. Would you live in a house like this???? - Never again

Read a few reviews and wasn't expecting much but it was all I could get at short notice. Don't know if things have improved since the last reviews but I was pleasantly suprised.
Don't get me wrong the apartments are not new but furnishings etc were all nice extremely clean- maid service 6 days out of 7, microwave, toaster, coin operated tv, comfy beds and pillows. Negatives the bathroom lets it down poor shower and towels very thin and old but that may just have been our apartment. The pool is v small and there are only 4 sun loungers but each apt has a table ,4 chairs and 2 sun loungers on the balcony. No problems with security, there are locked gates at the two entrances to the complex and we didn't hear of any trouble. Great location two minutes from the central shopping centre. Not too much noise but may be worse in the summer. If you are driving then come off the motorway through the tunnel and just past the water park (on your right) you will come to a mini roundabout that looks like it leads nowhere. Turn right at the roundabout and follow the road for about 1.5 minutes the apartments are on the left hand side. All in all if you are looking for a fair priced budget accomodation you won't go far wrong with these. One last note we found the reception staff to be v helpful and friendly so maybe the previous review just caught them on a bad day.

my family and l went to these apartments not knowing what to expect. The apartments are basic but are very clean, they are cleaned every 2 days and the pool is cleaned every night. Pepe and his family were very helpful. We were on the first floor but because pepe saw that l was disabled and had crutches he moved us near the pool which l thought was very nice of him. You do not have to go far to get something to eat or to buy your messages.
We are trying to get the same apartment as we had before.

What i can say, the owner aws very rude to all the children There was a series of robberies on the complex. There is no security, the gates were left open so anyone could gain acess and rob the apartments.

The facilities were awful, not enough plates and cutlery. Cooking facilities consisted of two electict rings and a microwave. Very poor accomodation, would not recomend to Bin Laden this holiday.
We came with 3 children, they enjoyed the Pool, we met couple from Liverpool, who were sooo nice Hi if if you read this as i saide i would post something on the web.

12 of us went on a family holiday, i'm a travel agent in scotland and got these apts at a really good price thats the reason for booking it. When we arrived at the apts their was no one at reception just a number on the door to phone, when we called the number pepie was there in 5min, i thought that was good as we ecpected to be thier hours. When we all got our room keys and got into the apts they were very clean and basic, I had read reviews before we left and i expected them to be a lot worse. We had a flood in our room the 2nd night we got their, they moved me and my partner into a 2 bedrooms apts on the first floor, they were so much nicer with a bigger balcony to set in. If you are looking at booking these apts book a 2 bedroom even if there is only 2 of you, as the rooms are much nicer. The Parque Raquel are really close to the main center, which i loved, I had a baby with me and i found this ideal, as we are NOT at the top of the hill. Just across a we path and thats you. I didnt find it loud at night, yes you did hear some music and people coming in drunk, but you get thet everywhere. I am a travel agent and i would go back to these apartments. I had met lots of people in the apts that come every year, thats a good sign. Even though we had a flood in our room, i really enjoyed my holiday, pepie and his wife bent over backwards to make sure we were happy.

I hope this has help you.

Stayed at the Parque Rachel twice this year May & June. Family run. Good, clean complex -no entertainment etc., but good pool, owners are very friendly. Micro wave, freezer and toaster in bungalows.

Literally 12 stairs and 100 yrds walk and you are in the certain of the commercal centre.
