Stayed at this hotel for a week in may 2014 and it was very enjoyable. The rooms are spacious with nice marble effect, with nice views of the harbour. I spent many a afternoon watching the too and throws of the boats. The beds was a little disappointing as they were 2 singles pushed together. The staff at the hotel was very polite and helpful. The pool area is very quite and peaceful but at times there was some heavy-petters but it was ok once kitty had been fed. There are a lot of stairs in the hotel and in the areas leading up to it. But they are not as bad as some reviews make out (unless your old or have disabilities) and the long stairs to the area are well lit and safe.
All in all the hotel is easily the best i have stayed at and would recommend it to anyone.

My boyfriend and I have just returned (31 May - 7 June 2014)

The Marina Bayview was everything I expected from the excellent reviews I have read and more. In the last 5 years I have been to Malta, Greece, Cyprus and other parts of Spain (all 4/5 stars) but this hotel has been the best of all of them, and by far the best value for money. The pool area was always clean and relaxed, and there were always loungers available for the entire week we were there. The bar/restaurant staff and cleaners were always polite and helpful, and the rooms were tidied every day. Our room had a balcony with a lovely view of the Marina which was nice, and useful features (air con, tv, microwave, fridge, hair dryer).

The staff went above and beyond - we had an issue with a padlock on our suitcase and the maintenance man came round within minutes to cut it off for us. I felt very confident that if there was any other help we needed, we wouldn't have to worry.

Would not fault the rooms or the hotel itself at all - I would only point out as others have the stairs that lead you down to the wider area of Puerto Rico. It depends on the individual but I know that some people would get a taxi down the hill.

The wider area itself has plenty of shops, restaurants and bars but if you are prepared to walk a bit further then there are some crazy golf places, Angry Birds land, McDonalds, and a complex of shops. We didn't really discover this until we had a few days left, as was the case with the beach. If you follow the wall round for another 1km, there is a much bigger and nicer beach and although it's a bit of a walk in my opinion it is so worth it.

All in all, this hotel is ranked highly for a very good reason - you will have guaranteed satisfaction here.

Room Tip: They all looked good, all faced the marina.

We spent 10 nights in the Marina Bayview at the start of May, staying in an apartment with balcony. The apartment was spotless, bright with a lovely view of the harbour and sea. Some nice touches with bottle of water and washing up liquid, etc for our arrival. No compalints whatsoever with the accomodation, but I would agree with some reviewers that it would be nice to have a double bed, instead of two singles. The pool is really good and again everyplace is so clean; it really is a credit to the management and staff. I swam most days and there was never a problem getting a sun bed.....so people, please don't run down at 8.00am with your towels, becasue there is no need.
I would also recommend the lunch available in the bar as it was excellent and very good value with most choices being around €6.50. And the BBQ on Friday nights is also excellent value at €16 per head. There is a very good shop on site which sells everything you could need (nice to see a gluten free section), and it isn't more expensive than the regular supermarkets. There is also a very small gym on site...just a few dumbells and some cardio machines, but you'll get your exercise walking up and down the steps to the harbour (about 170 but don't let that be a problem because you won't be disappointed with this complex).
And one of the best things about the Marina Bayview are the staff who are lovely....everybody was so pleasant, friendly and helpful.
We have just booked a return visit for the end of September and are really looking forward to it!
If you're looking for a really good restaurant within walking distance, check out Grill Costa Mar along the harbour....excellent fish and steaks.
Also check out Cosi Come Sei which is a beautiful Italian at the bottom of the steps...on the upper level of the shopping complex.
La Mattina on the lower level serves great pizza's and the supermarket is better than the larger ones in town.

My friend & I are just back from a very chilled weeks stay (self catering) at the gorgeous Marina Bayview hotel. It was easily the best hotel we have stayed at. Looking at the pictures online we were excited to visit but also skeptical as to wether it would actually look the same...which it did! What you see in the pictures is EXACTLY what you get! Such a beautifully decorated & looked after hotel! The decor is lovely & very different from the usual and also the beds are SO comfy! Very glad there was no yellow & blue scratchy blankets you get in other hotels lol. The sofa is spacious but very hard. The kitchen has 2 hobs, microwave, kettle & toaster in the drawer! Only thing missing was a bottle opener but we had our own anyway!

We had no problems at all during our stay however when we did deal with the reception staff (mainly Jose) and/or housekeeping/bar staff they couldn't have been any more helpful! We were staying in block D (room 112) which is the quiet block...it was a little too quiet for us but we had our own music speaker so that helped. The views of the marina & the ocean from this block are so pretty & make it worth while! I've read that the 4 poster beds in block D are only for the Deluxe rooms but we weren't staying in one of those & we used the beds...there was no issue with that & we weren't told otherwise so pretty much anyone can use them! I also read that the lifeguard removes the towels from beds if they are unoccupied...I can't say I saw this happen once & there was lots of beds with towels that never got removed! As most mention the loungers are uncomfortable on your back but I found after the second day I got used to it. The pool area & both pools are very clean. Lifeguard also on duty at all times. While we were there a member of staff doing massages by the pool which is great if you like that sort of thing!

Can't comment much on the bar food as we only had breakfast buffet for €12 the first morning & then ate out the rest of the time...however I can recommend the Smoothies which we bought about 3 or 4 each everyday at €4.05 Strawberry & banana was the best but it was sold out after the second day so we switched to the Blueberry & Banana one which was also delicious! Very refreshing when it's so hot! Every Friday there is an on site BBQ for €16!

The wifi in our room didn't work at all, we had to sit on the balcony which wasn't a problem, but on the fourth day there was a maintenance man going around installing routers into every apartment so everyone has their own wifi aswell as the hotel wifi if you're in the pool/bar area! This was a great help :)

As most have said there is lots of stairs in & around the hotel but there is a lift if it's too much for you. There is 160 steps to get from the hotel area down to the bottom where you will find a supermarket, some beautiful restaurants Including a steak house & an Italian aswell as a fabulous Irish bar (Durty Nellys) We practically had breakfast & dinner in Durty Nellys everyday, they do some great Chicken Kievs, gammon steaks & lasagne which all come with chips and/or salad for about €8.50, a small breakfast was €3.50. If you decide to walk down the stairs you can get a taxi right outside the Irish bar for €3/€4 to get you back up! If you want to venture a little more you can go to the bottom of the hill, under the tunnel & turn right...along that way there is some more food places including a beautiful Indian restaurant called Taj Palace aswell as another Irish bar (McCools) & a cocktail bar (Bacara) which were also great! The Europa centre has lots of bars & restaurants aswell but was very very quiet when we went as it's not high season, it's €4/€5 in a taxi to get there.

Amadores beach was €6 each way in a taxi, it's a gorgeous beach with clear blue water! Definitely worth a visit! Toilet costs 50cents & €5 to use the shower. For 2 loungers & a parasol it was €11! Be careful not to sit so close to the water though lol...the tide came in FAR when we were there and a lot of peoples belongings got wet as it came further up the sand than usual so I would suggest to sit closest to the shops & restaurants!

Some very MINOR complaints that we had are listed below....they are tiny things but could be improved.
Tiny ants that in the kitchen sink/counter tops. We weren't making any food so it didn't bother us but I imagine it would be an issue for some people. Please don't be put off by this, it's nothing to do with cleanliness because the hotel is absolutely spotless! The pool bar would be so much better if it was opened later, pre dinner drinks are a great way to start the night! I think it'd really help if they changed their opening times & not just the Friday. The toilet door doesn't lock...it's basically like a saloon which isn't the best if you are sharing with someone. I think it would be better if they fitted locks just for peace of mind & a little privacy while in the shower...also unsure why the bottom half of the bathroom window is frosted but not the top half? It means people on the decking can see you in the shower if they look up which isn't ideal, we put a hand towel up so it was blocked out.

Sorry this review is so long but I think I covered what most people ask about! I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking to enjoy a relaxing holiday but not if you want to go clubbing, the main commercial centre is further out. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful apartments, great view, nice pool, 2 things that could make it even better though Marina Bayview if you read this, please put some decent double beds instead of two single beds together, there are lots of couples that go to your apartments !! Also the sun beds are very uncomfortable, please get some vice white cushions for them

Stayed at the Bayview Apartments for a surprise visit for my Husbands Birthday what a lovely pleasant stay. The apartments are beautiful, the pool area everything about this place is great, would go back and price was amazing for a weeks stay (Room 115 and 116) views to die for. If you are looking for something special stay here. They even put a chocolate birthday cake in the fridge for our return and a birthday card. Have stayed at the Marine Suites but the pool area this year was far to busy so so glad I booked these instead. Have not got a bad word for these apartments, even the view from the shower was beautiful. The outside space is good also, and so quite PERFECT

Room Tip: all rooms have a beautiful view!!
