ALL Staff were always friendly and happy to help, even have a joke on with you.
Special mention to Cruz and Edmundo from the pool bar they were lovely. pool bar next to entertainment closes at 11pm.
Pool selection and size were excellent with plenty of sunbeds especially in adult area.
They do aqua zumba and pool activities during the day which looked good.
Adult area jacuzzi overlooking resort was amazing.
Wish we asked for higher room (we had 1107) so our view was better but it wasn't unbearable, I'm sure they would have changed if we had been bothered to ask. Yes we had 3 lifts down to our room but this was no problem.
Though its all inclusive it also has everything you need in a self catering which was handy (kettle, hob, fridge, microwave, toaster) that was in a studio.
Balconies have sunbeds and table and chairs, room had fan (adequate) and hairdryer with bath with overhead shower, good wardrobe and full length mirrors.
Food was average as expected but it filled a hole and still ended up going back for more.. We only ate out once in a week, we went for later time so we could stay at the pool until 6 then go for food about half 8 in time to finish for the entertainment, which was okay something to do if your not venturing out! The lion king show was the best one.
Drinks selection very good... beer malibu vodka amaretto peach shnapps etc...
Location - good. walk down the steps takes 15 mins-ish to the beach/harbour. Taxi 3eur each way, vgood. There is a supermarket next to the hotel and places to eat/drink/souvenirs either at the top of the hill (europa center) or at the bottom of the hill in peurto rico town.
We got the bus one day to the water park (26 eur each I think) which was very good but beware the last bus back is 17.30 we had to get a taxi for 25 eur after paying for a return ticket for 10eur for 2 of us. Another day we done the 'Sagittarius-cat' boat trip which was good but advertises more than you actually do e.g. see turtles - we didn't, see dolphins - we were clearly too far close to land for their to be any, and go in the sea caves, which there was no mention of once we were actually on the boat. She also said when selling it to us that parasailing was 12 euro each.. it was 25 each so good job we brought just enough money but still a good boat trip anyway just be careful.
We travelled as two 21 year old females staying 7 nights.. I was originally going with my partner who then couldn't attend due to work but we had a lovely relaxing break.. there is no noise at night or rowdy groups. For young people or people that do want a good drink/party get the taxi down to the shopping centre theres plently of lively bars at night we particularly liked riders where its 2 drinks for 7 eur which closes at 3am then everyone goes to another place which closes at 7am, then theres the usual places with promo people. As well as families and couples This is the perfect holiday for young people who like clubs and bars but don't want to go to the likes of magaluf etc.
People complaining about wifi... it does work in public areas, rooms apparently not but your on holiday, stick a euro in the computer if you need to... also worth checking at reception if through travel provider you can get it free, we met some english people who got it free through their company.
If your return flight is later there is a curtesy room with plenty of showers so you can still pool it during the day.
Overall excellent holiday hotel had everything you need and more for 3 star would definitely recommend, can honestly say we had no problems.. and I can be quite picky.

Room Tip: Ask for high room, we got 1107 and view could have been better but we didn't bother asking for a...

I arrived here on the 10/07/2014 and getting off the coach the hotel was lovley the girls at reception were nice and helpful check in was smooth and prompt we stayed in room 2313 beautiful views best ive seen there was no air con that wasnt a big factor but hotel could really benefit from it now heres the problem with the hotel all inclusive the food was terrible bacon was tasteless bread was sitting too long was far too hard the yogurts were warm wasnt sitting at right temperature there was 6 of us that travelled together and we all noticed that the food was terrible we got talking to a couple from wigan they said the same its the worst all inclusive food i have ever encountered that had to be said this hotel would be better self catering and sell off the restraunts to a good catering company this hotel is far too big and i feel that the food is so bad due to this. But on a plus side pools are great and the adult only part is stunning hope this helps other travellers i would only return to this hotel if the food was better i will keep an eye on reviews

The location of the hotel is great just short walk or taxi ride to all of the shops bars and beaches. Food in the hotel was lovely but the rooms lacked air conditioning and the fan that was provided wasn't sufficient for the heat. And rooms are a little dated but all have fantastic views , all staff are very friendly and welcoming and great at arranging trips etc I would recommend going to
Palmitos Park but stay away from the aqua land there was awful as all rides were undergoing maintenance and pools were drained :/ was very disappointed but we did receive a full refund for the day , but
Overall a nice stay and good value for the price that was paid Thankyou to all the staff :) x

Stayed here end of May 2014 to celebrate friends 50th birthday. Hotel was great, spotless.

We got a rooms with views over the beach as we had requested and two rooms beside each other. Although there is no AC we had a fan which was ok.

Spent most time on the adult terrace which had lovely views and a gorgeous infinity pool. The food was lovely plenty to choose from every day. Breakfast, lunch, evening meal and snaks ! Drinks readily available with friendly bar staff. Entertainment was average but watchable! Abba night was good.

Not too far from centre but would recommend getting a taxi which was cheap enough and the reception staff will organise for you.

On departure day we were unable to keep our room on and we're not being picked up until sevenish in evening. We were able to leave our luggage in a luggage room and used a communal shower room in the afternoon to have a shower etc. this was no problem and room was clean.

Unfortunately when we left I realised I had left £180 euros in the safe , I asked at reception but we did not have much time before the bus was picking us up and no one had handed it in. I thought that was it, until a couple of weeks after we arrived home the hotel contacted the travel agents we had booked with to say they had got the money and I have just received it thanks to Marcos Ariza Pearsall who went out of his way to the post office twice to arrange the transfer of the money for me. How lovely of him to do this and to whoever found the money to have handed it in. I am very lucky.
This was our 2nd time at this hotel and would definitely come back!

Room Tip: We stayed in 1608 and 1609 perfect views and easy to get to from facilities .

We stayed here for 10 nights end of June/beginning of July and were thouroughly impressed. This was our first family holiday for a long time so we approached it with a little trepidation as All Inclusive was new to us.

As it turned out we had no cause for concern as the Puerto Azul really exceeded all our expectations. The rooms were of a reasonable standard and well kept throughout our holiday - we didn't do much other than sleep and shower there though.

The pool area was excellent, plenty of sunbeds etc and there are some quite shallow areas outside the kiddie pool which allowed my son (who's not the best swimmer) to play with his big sister the whole time without her feeling she was paddling.

The range of drinks available through All Inclusive was good. The local beer on tap was actually pretty nice, the selection of wines, spirits, cocktails and soft drinks was excellent too. Kids were able to go and help themselves and get ice cream at the pool bar and they loved having that bit of independence.

Food in the restaurant was good and varied. The staff work hard to keep everything fresh and replenished and there was always plenty to eat at every meal. We ate there every meal and ended up not having to go out to eat once.

The staff were excellent. My son's bear got swept up with the bedclothes one day when they were being changed. We went to reception and the staff there were so friendly and helpful, really took ownership of the problem and we had the bear back in hand the next day. Brilliant.

Puerto Rico itself is a good resort for families and didn't have the roving bands of drunken idiots or more adult themed entertainment you sometimes see in other resorts, although be prepared not to walk on flat ground the whole time you're there as it's very hilly!

We took the bus to Mogan on the Friday for the market which I'd heartily recommend. We were around 12 euros return for 4 on the bus, Mogan is stunning and the market was well worth the trip.

Overall, I'd heartily recommend Puerto Rico and the Puerto Azul to anyone considering a holiday. For what we paid for 10 nights all inclusive we really were blown away.

Room Tip: We were in room 2708 which was handy for the pool and restaurant without being too close and had ama...

The management is inexistent, the service and the food are mediocre. Lot of roaches and ants in every place, not only in the rooms, horrible hot rooms and with mold smell, no A/C. Most of jacuzzis cold. The good: excelent view and quietness. Never come back.

Room Tip: No good rooms.
