This hotel was amazing. We went all inclusive and the room was amazing, staff brilliant and facilities very good. I highly recommend to anyone with children as my 1 year old daughter had a brilliant time. Also good for couples and families with older children. Will definately go again!

We stayed here during the Easter School break and had a fantastic time. The hotel staff were fantastic and always friendly with excellent service in the restaurant. The rooms were spacious and clean with air con if required.

The hotel comprises of 4 blocks that are only partially connected together which can be confusing sometimes but after a day or so it is easy to navigate.

There are three pools with one baby pool, one children's /family pool and one adults only pool. Be aware that the family pool is 1.4m deep.

There is an excellent children's club called Club Tina which runs activities all day and into the evening and finishes with a Kids disco every night.
Food in the restaurant is quite good for a buffet but there is no a la cart option so that is why I cannot give the hotel an excellent rating. I'm being really picky here.

Room Tip: Go for Block 1 floor 3

having stayed at this hotel a few times in the past... I had thought that the standard had slipped so have not been back there until last week. They have totally changed the staff standard to fantastic with execption to Reception staff who just are not helpful. We travelled with a two year old so was dreading entertaining her BUT the tina club staff were so so good with her. She was so happy with them that there was tears when we took her for a walk. The restaurant staff fantastic also. Every morning would say hello to her by he name...... I have a very high standard when it comes to hotels and this was certainly up there. Have already booked to return in September.
Well done Gloria Palace..... Fantastic holiday

I stayed at the Gloria Palace for one week in March with my parents. The plan was to have a nice relaxing stay without too much running around. This was a very easy target staying here. The hotel is well positioned, perched on a cliff-top between Puerto Rico town and Mogan beach, interlinked by a lovely cliff promenade which is an easy stroll at most 10 mins to either destination. A lift transports guests between hotel and promenade so there is no hardship involved. If you don't fancy walking the little stretch, taxis are very cheap (about €2.50 one way).
The residents seem to be a cross-section of europeans with scandinavians and germans making up a good persentage of the clientele. Age groups range from 30-something families with small children (not many kids at this time of year) to senior citizens and 50-something ladies travelling in small groups.
The hotel is welcoming and the staff are helpful and friendly at all times. The rooms are spacious and clean and serviced every day by domestic staff. The floors of the hotel are arranged a bit strangely. Instead of the floors increasing in number as you traval up, they decrease. So floor 7 is actually the ground floor as such and floor 1 is the upper floor. People did get rather confused about this and the lift to the promenade is badly marked also, so we all had the experience of going up and down in the lift getting lost initially! If your are reserving a room ask not to be placed on floor 7. Floor 7(which is where we were located) faces onto the walkway that brings you to the promenade, so there is a good deal of pedestrian traffic by guests headed down to the beach and it is not very private on the balcony. Floor 4 or 5 would be ideal.
We had a half board deal and there is a buffet style dining room for meal times. There is a wide variety of good quality food available. I am a vegetarian and there were tasty choices for me each day. I'm not a fan of the buffet style set-up as you do feel you are eating in a canteen in some ways. We found that in order to keep our table on arrival every day, we each had to go separately to choose each course, which meant we could be eating different courses at the same time- not a very relaxing dining experience. The level of noise in the restaurant is high as there are large volumes of people traipsing about at all times, so if you are looking for a relaxing candlelit dinner, this is not for you. There are waiting staff who bring your drinks and they are friendly and knowledgable regarding the wine list.
There are two outdoor swimming areas with snack bars and beautiful views over the sea. I enjoyed this and it was very chilled out.
On the downside, the thalasso spa area is out of bounds unless you want to pay for access to the pool & jacuzzi etc and I think that is unacceptable given that the hotel prices are steep enough. The use of the spa pool and jacuzzi should be included in the overall residential price and it is cheeky to charge extra. My mother went for a massage one day and really enjoyed it and It was reasonably priced.
There was evening entertainment nightly but it was the same kind if thing every night- pre-recorded music which some entertainers dressed up and danced to ie: Abba/ Michael Jackson covers etc. People seemed to enjoy them though it would not be my cup of tea. There was the same female singer on after this as a second act every night. We were completely sick of her by the second night and she had the same songs more or less every night. Management should re-think that element! We headed to the lobby bar instead and chilled out there.
Overall, this hotel is a very nice, comfortable, well appointed and relaxing place to spend a week and I would return if with my parents again, or if I just wanted everything handed to me on a platter. I might opt not to go half board because of the hustle bustle feel to the restaurant every night and to give me the freedom to go out for dinner elsewhere for a change of scene.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on floor 4-6.

Arrived at hotel at evening time and discovered a sewer type odour in our room. Opened patio door and main door to allow air pass through. Opened doors again at approx 3.30am approx to purge room with fresh air. Reported situation to desk the following the following morning to be told that it was probably the cleaning agent used in the room but asked for room to be checked. No action by desk staff and in the meantime we blocked floor gulley, shower outlet and sink outlet with plastic and wet tissue to find the odour had gone. Further contact made with desk staff informing of updated situation and still no action.
Finally established ourselves through elimination that the sink outlet was the sourse of the sewer gasses entering the room. On checking the waste outlet underneath the sink were astonished to discover there was no sewer gas trap fitted due to faulty or careless installation origionally. To sum up, the hotel desk staff showed no interest in what was a very serious life threatning situation. Wrote to hotel including photos on our return home and outlined concern for other guests that might occupy that same room and as expected received no response

On arrival there were a multitude of staff on reception to ensure a speedy check-ins, however a good percentage of these seemed to beinexperienced trainees, but they did their best and were very pleasant.
On arrival our room seemed great, very spacious and clean with a large balcony benefitting from stunning views across the Atlantic and complete privacy from neighbouring balconies. However after the first night it became apparent that we were situated below the pool bar and cellar area which resulted in quite alot of noise from beer barrels being moved and cigarette smoke wafting through the vents. We are preety easy going so were happy to live with these issues but after the second day we realised we were not the only residents in room 4102.......we were sharing our bathroom with a multitude of cocroaches..........again probably due to the location of the room. Of course we asked to be moved and this was done immediately and without question. Our next room was great, same spectacular views and spotlessly clean.
Hotel location is great, easily accesible to all amenities and promanade lift a huge bonus.
We booked all-inclusive which was without doubt excellent value for money....the food was excellent with huge varieties. Many snacks available throughout the day from bar-snack menu. Also cocktails, irish coffee, proper coke, diet coke, fanta, ice-creams etc all included without question or limit........amazing.
Would go back without question.......but not to room 4102!

Just returned from a week in Puerto Rico where we stayed in Gloria Palace Amadores. Was a bit confused when booking as I think tripadvisor have the locations of this hotel and Gloria Palace Royal mixed up. Location of Amadores hotel is great, built into cliff and about 10 mins walk either side to beaches and resorts.
Hotel is very spacious with lovely sun/swim area. I am 6 months pregnant and was given a great room close to the pool area. Entertainment at night is not overly exciting but we werent looking for much.
