If you want a room with a view, then this is definitely the place to go. Every room has a sea view since the hotel is built into the side of a cliff. Our room 2213, in block 2 was in the perfect place - near to the restaurant/pool/reception and entertainment. The hotel is located next to Amadores beach which has a small selection of bars and shops. If you get short of any bits n pieces there is actually a spar about 100m from the hotel. We found it really handy since we were half board and the price of drinks in the hotel was ridiculous. e.g a small can of hieneken was 4 euros! They even charged 2.2 euros for bottles of water in the restaurant which I thought was extortionate.
It is a very quiet resort, so don't expect to see any hen nights or stag nights. It was a bit more lively in Puerto Rico which was approx. 20 mins walk along a cliff top path (don't try this during the day in the scorching sunshine! we did and ended up very dehydrated).
The only thing I can criticise is the price of drinks, but if you go all inclusive this is not an issue. Although there was a separate drinks menu for all inclusive which did not include any branded drinks. The infinity pool was lovely and gave a great opportunity for some fab photos. All in all I would recommend this hotel for anyone paying for all inclusive.

Room Tip: Block 2 is nearest to the restaurant and pool. I would avoid block 1 as its further away.

We spent a beautifull early summer holiday in the end of June 2014. We booked the room, throw the official website of the hotel, and we didnt have any issues with the process. We booked half board service for 1week. We had night fligth, we have arrived to GranCanaria early (7.am) in the morning. From the airport we travelled by car to the hotel. After we arrived one employee at the gate informed us that there is private parking are for the hotel guests..that was the 1nd big+. We had to wait for check in(usually it is allow after 2pm), because our room wasnt ready and it was too early (9.am). We got one voucher for lunch, beacuse we had to wait until 2pm...that was also kind from the hotel. Our room was big enough, with beautifull seaview and with balcony. The breakfast and dinners were delicious. Everyone can choose, there is huge selection. Our room was cleaned everyday. The beach is 200m from the hotel. In the evenings there were different entertainment programs (magicians, dance, musical songs, etc.) The one week wasnt enough to see all the sights of the island. We had lot of trips, but this is hotel review :). At our last day, we checked out at 11am, but we stayed at the hotels pool, and before we leave the hotel, we got one room (for 30min) to take a shower.
We really loved the stay in Gran Canaria and in this hotel, we can only recommed it to everyone!!

Room Tip: Every room has sea view :) There are 4blocks of rooms and services. If you want room close to swimm...

We arrived on the 23rd June and the we were brought to our room showed around and it seemed to be really nice. We were put in block one and the noise of the road we ended up having to as to be moved the guy in the desk an older man with grey hair didn't seem at all impressed that we asked. I had asked before we arrived to be put on a high floor with sun and when the guy said he would move us u asked about this k was told "yes yes". We had to wait until 2 for our new room and were not allowed to keep our old room, we were not offered any help with bags. When we for our new room in block 1 we asked the same guy 3 times where we go he just kept pointing again no help was offered with bags and there was 3 guys on the desk!! The room was lovely and quiet and couldn't complain. The food was ok again you could find something to suit all but I have stayed in Puerto azul AI and the layout and food was much better (this was a 3star). Didn't seem family friendly or English friendly 3 stations in English on the telly and the tellys showing matches in the pool area mind you one telly is all was on German as is most of the telly stations, again puerto azul had so many English stations. This hotel doesn't seem to cater to English. The pool was amazing as was the cocktails. Very friendly staff at the pool. Dinner you have to be seated and you feel a bit out of place when 1st arriving, but you get used to it . The views amazing too. Night time entertainment very bad again a lot more in other places I have stayed. Don't think I would return and if I did it would be for the pool as it really is amazing altho other thing which is really annoying your allowed to reserved your sun bed so you need to be there early as the hotel was full when we where there and a lot of sun beds reserved and not used for half the day a family came down with a 3yr old and had to leave as no beds or space yet most beds were empty just reserved. Again other hotels this is not allowed for obvious reasons and think it needs to be addressed.

In my experience is the best hotel I have been on the Canary Islands.
Everything is perfect. The only thing in the hotel that could use some changes is the gym/ fitness facility. But anyway I will definitely come back.

Asked Thomas Cook 4 a family based hotel n the was there suggestion ?? On arrival hotel was clean and we'll presented and reception staff seemed pleasant enough. We were unaware of the trouser to dinner rule until we went to the dinner hall and then waiting staff were rude. We complained to the Thomas Cook rep at the meeting the next morning and she did offer to move us. The kids entertainment Is extremely poor they don't interact with the children at all and barely looked interested in the poor excuse of a mini disco. I felt at every meal we seemed to be in the far back corner with the kids like children weren't that welcome and stuck up oldies staring at them. The pool was slippery and quite dangerous and the so called child's pool was pathetic. First holiday were I've wanted to go home. Never again.

This was our first time in Gran Canaria, we were very impressed by this hotel, spacious, situated near the beach of Amadores, within walking distance, albeit up a bit of an incline, but there is a lift that takes you up to the main part of the hotel, we had a very friendly receptionist who greeted us with a glass of cava, Ishmir, brought us and our luggage up to our room , which was large and immaculate, and kept that way throughout our visit, we had a beautiful balcony, furnished with comfortable wicker chairs and a table, it had a wonderful seaview of the beach, and had the sunshine from early afternoon till the evening.
We were half board and were so impressed with the standard of the food, the buffet in the evening was varied every night, and each evening they had some Canarian specialties, the salads were lovely, Breakfast was of a very high standard,
The staff were lovely, kind, efficient and attentive.
Plenty of sunbeds with large umbrellas, an option of a soft covering might be nice for us older guests
We look forward to returning

Room Tip: Floor 4 is very near to the main part of the hotel
