Stayed at a lot of places in gran canaria and this is by far the worst !!! Food luke warm and just terrible
Honestly honestly don't book here because it's cheap you will regret !!!!
Pool barriers half hanging off . . You even have to ask for a plug for the sink and bath honestly spend a bit more money stay elsewhere and you won't regret it

We arrived at 10pm and was met by a security guard who gave us room keys and that was that! After finding our apartments we then had to go and explore surrounding area to find food and drink. Food is edible (just) although never warm, drinks on the all inclusive are limited and I suppose you get used to the smells in the rooms after a week!!!! However the cockroaches really seem to be enjoying themselves, most of the staff are pleasant apart from the chef (don't stand in his way). If your self catering you should be ok, if your all inclusive bring plenty of cash! It's your holiday and you make it what it is, we've made some friends and had a really good laugh so not all is bad.

First time to this resort, unfortunately we arrived in the middle of some modernisation plans. We were informed on arrival that we would spend one night in one room and informed sometime the following day which room we would be moving into.
We were then informed that we would be eating in one area but all drinks would be served from the hut on the Lara resort.
Works began from 0800 throughout the day. Very noisy!

Met some great people and new friends made !

Good Points:
Pool area nice and clean
Spacious room
Very good breakfast options

Bad Points:
Being shouted at by the cook!
Tea and coffee not available throughout the day only when food area open
Food very repetitive, typical basic all inclusive - tomato soup used as pasta sauce
Overworked staff
No hot water, however was resolved eventually
Friends had a cockroach problem in their room

Room Tip: All upstairs rooms have balconies, less chance of cockroaches upstairs Lara apartments noisy due to...

I am only just back from my stay in Lara Apartments in Puerto Rico,
On my arrival the receptionist was quite rude and insisted on keeping my passports behind the desk which I did not allow. I stayed in Lara Apartments, the apartment were nice but very basic although it was very clean. However there were no plugs in the sink or bath? Only two hobs and there was only a few pieces of cutlery. And I found the beds to be very comfortable despite what others have wrote on here. They have an excellent cleaning service and they came round quite often. There is a safe available in the apartments also which was handy although you had to pay 25E for it and got 5E back after you returned the key. I paid for all inclusive which was a joke. There was a very limited selection of food and it wasn't of a good standard. Being all inclusive I expected to be able to have as many alcoholic drinks and or soft drinks at my leisure but this was not the case as all 2/2 bars closed when ever they chose, depending on if anyone was sitting by the pool. The pools were very clean but you are lucky to get a seat as other residents reserve spaces 24/7 with their towels. Also BE AWARE there are extensive works going on in the resort. Workers start at approximately 7:30 and they are not shy to use their very large drills at this time. As for location, there is a good few bars/restaurants and shops at the EUROPA CENTER just situated to be back of the hotel. Please note that it is fairly pricey unless you are an alcoholic who likes to chain smoke. That being said you are able to take a taxi down into the main town for 3 to 4 euros. But the prices there are not much better unless you eat at the Greedy Pig which is excellent.

Room Tip: Make sure you are places in Nido del Aguila apartments if you have the choice!

Good Points - rooms basic but clean and pool very nice. Resort and pool area kept clean. Pool very nice. Bad points - werent told modernisations going on and we were moved rooms after 1 night and had to fight to get a decent room again. Beds were not changed at all all week although room cleaned. Food started off ok but did go seriously down hill. The Pasta sauce was in fact just a tin of tomato soup !!! vile!! Some of it was undercooked too...ie fish and eggs. The chef was not a very pleasant person at all and was very rude. The other staff worked long hours and got quite grumpy with guests. We also had to keep going to different bars to get drinks as they kept shutting the bottom bar. Cockroaches in room and cleaner did not get anyone to spray room even when asked. Shop was shut and was never told all week. Our friends rooms had no hot water and then they sprung a leak and they had to shower in a different apartment. Was ok place but would not stay there again

Just got back from our 3rd visit these apartments are very clean (maid came every 2 days) the staff were so helpful and friendly as always Anna and Sara so welcoming. There is slight refurbishment going on at the moment but it doesn't disrupt your holiday. You have usual moaners about food but if you want 5 star pay 5 star simples. We will be going again next year thankyou the Gilks family.

Room Tip: Go for Lara apartments if you want quiet room

For a last minute all inclusive deal, this place is great.
Like a lot of places in Gran Canaria, it is up a very steep hill so is no problem for the able bodied but not so easy for anyone with mobility problems. Taxis are very reasonable (around 4 euro down to the beach)
The good points;
The apartment was clean and serviced every other day.
Food was generally good with a variety of choices.
Staff work very hard and are very helpful.
Plentiful supply of alcoholic and soft drinks at the bar.
Pool area clean.

The not so good points;
Receptionist took passports on arrival but then they were left out behind reception area ( along with many other passports), reception was not constantly manned thereby leaving them vulnerable to theft. You can reclaim your passport the next day though.
No air conditioning in the apartments (20'c+ at night)
Pool beds and parasols in a poor state of repair.
The resort is undergoing so refurbishment at tho moment which is good to see but not so good when a 'Jack hammer' starts up 1st thing in the morning.
No curtains in the bedroom (only a net curtain so no privacy unless you put a blanket up in front of the window)
TV remote, Safe and Wi Fi were available at a daily cost.
