“Relaxing, 1st class complex”
Reviewed 21 April 2014

Just returned from 1 week in the above complex. We stayed in apt 413 which was on the 4th floor overlooking the pool and the sea. It was a fabulous apt. It had 2 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms and a large living room and kitchen. The balcony was huge but unfortunately we didn't get the sun on the balcony at this time of year. It had 4 sun loungers and a table on the balcony for sun bathing and dining. The living room had a TV (5 English channels) via satellite, a DVD player and a dining table and plenty of seating . The only downside to the apt was that there was no wifi! You could however get free wifi in the reception areas. The views from the apt are uninterrupted sea views and the complex is very quiet generally. The communal areas and gardens are spotless. Golf del Sur seems to be a very family orientated resort with restaurants and bars. We found prices eating out very reasonable with a variety of food available. A favourite was Rendevous located in the Winter Garden complex.

Room Tip: High floor if you want great sea views

Tenerife is one of our favourite places to stay for many reasons, we have great friends on the island and have travelled hundreds of times staying all over for many years.
Sept 2013 my husband and I got married and decided to stay in apartment 413 for a two week honeymoon.
We were over the moon when we arrived, quick smiley helpful staff and an amazing apartment, 413 is superb amazing views and a huge balcony right in the centre of the complex so fabulous views. This apartment as a spar bath, robes towels on arrival and is really big inside including a dishwasher, washing machine etc.
The maids cleaned on a regular basis and left plenty towels afterwards.
The restaurant down stairs was quite however the girl working there Sarah was outstanding with excellent customer service skills so much that we got our friends and their local friends to start having their happy hour sessions there.
The food was delicious and great value also the glass house next door was equally great value and good service.
I would recommend this apartment to anyone, We loved it so much we are back out there in June with great friends to share the experience.

Room Tip: 413 is in the centre of the complex with a huge balcony on the sea front.

As we were holidaying for a month, husband being newly retired, we wanted a spacious, comfortable apartment where we could relax. Apartment 306 at El Nautico certainly met our requirements! If we'd been out and about in the daytime, it was lovely to be able to relax on the comfy sofa and watch TV in the evening, or listen to music, chat and drink wine. If we were around Golf during the day, we could have lunch on the balcony in the sunshine and watch the waves crashing on to the small beach below. Lovely view!
We ate in Maria's restaurant downstairs quite a few times and found it excellent, especially after cocktails during Happy Hour in the bar. We would certainly return to El Nautico for a relaxing holiday in a beautiful location.

First, the complex. This place is a really nice apartment block sitting in a really lovely spot right next to the sea. We were initially impressed with the size of the room (413) which had two bedrooms and a large balcony (in shade all day except for a narrow strip of sun from midday onwards). We were happy with the general condition and cleanliness. However, we were disappointed to learn that during the ten days we would be here, there would be just one maid visit to sweep round and take away the over flowing bins! Whilst here, the maid changed my wife's bed sheet as it had some light staining due to a spray tan she had the day before we came. We were called by reception who were undertaking some kind of inquest on the stain. They then charged £14 as they had to clean it. Are they having a laugh!!! Really unprofessional considering we had paid way over £100 per night to stay here! we always stay in good quality apartments in Tenerife which without fail, have always come with the basic necessities such as washing up liquid, salt & pepper, toilet rolls, kitchen roll etc. this place had none of that. We had to undertake a comprehensive shop at the supermarket just to get underway. All in all, we had a lovely holiday in a nice apartment, it's the small details that make the difference between good & great. So I've marked my stay as just average as we came away feeling short changed.

Room Tip: Take all your bits and bobs with you or you will spend a fortune at the supermarket.

Me and my girlfriend first visited El Nautico 4 years ago and have visited on yearly basis since, we have stayed in 3 separate apartments throughout the complex and whilst all apartments are similar, some are kitted out better than others as private owners put their own ideas into them. From our experiences our favourite apartment to stay in is 103, the owners are brilliant in terms of communication and the apartment is always clean and beautifully set out, with every facility we could possibly need (washing machine, microwave, dishwasher etc). Furthermore this apartment came with a TV in the bedroom and WIFI (unlike any others we have stayed in) which certainly helped on lazy mornings rather than getting up to sit in the lounge. We regularly used the 'Glass Cafe' which is attached to El Nautico which offered a good menu and value for money (especially at happy hour!). We found that whilst this apartment lacks a balcony as such, its perfect for getting to the pool and sunbathing as you don't have to walk through the hotel and use lifts etc. Instead you can walk out of the patio doors and have everything you need there. As a young couple we spend most of our time walking up to the San Blas which is literally minutes down the road, where there is a large selection of bars and restaurants to cover all needs, young and old. There is even a nightclub if that's what you're in to (don't worry the complex is VERY quiet on a night). Overall a wonderful place to stay and we will be visiting consistently for the foreseeable future.

Room Tip: 103 on the ground floor is perfect for access to the complex and surrounding areas, highly recommend...

We stayed in apartment 103 and had a fantastic week, the apartment was spacious and the cleanliness was spot on. The owners were amazing at helping us with our questions and sending details before we left, the info book in the apartment was a nice touch too. I was very pleased to see there was a washing machine there it was great being able to wash stuff properly. The facilities were great they also had a dish washer, cooker, microwave and the fridge was a lovely size as well as two TV's one in the living room and one in the bedroom. 103 was ideally situated for us our patio doors lead straight to a peaceful sunbathing area (no steps) which looks over the beach it wasnt a much further to the pool or cafe which were also lovely. I was surprised at just how much space this apartment had being a one bed the room and wardrobe facilities were amazing and the bath room stunning too. The living/dining are were lovely to relax in or have a nap before a night out to the square which is also walking distance and very nice for evening entertainment and dining. The apartment also has free wi-fi which was useful especially if you fancied a night in with drinks at the patio table. Overall great holiday and even better apartment would recomend to anyone.

Room Tip: 103 was a lovely room as it was close to everything pool, reception, sun bathing and had the best vi...

We have stayed in 5 different apartments in El Nautico over the years, so this review will include observations from different apartments...

One thing that carries across irrespective of which apartment you stay in, is the high quality of the complex, the attentive, helpful El Nautico staff, and the fact that the Terrace Cafe and Maria Restaurant are both superb.

All of the apartments are essentially kitted out to the same specification in terms of fixtures and fittings, so it is down to individual owners to decide what spec to add in terms of TV/DVD etc and other extras.

Our favourite apartment to stay in is 314. Well equipped with fantastic views out over the ocean, the owners are really laid back and ensure that you have a great holiday.

Beware apartment 104! This was not a great experience for us...

I'll start with the positives for this apartment - it has wi-fi in the apartment so there is no need to go to the communal areas to use the El Nautico free wi-fi. The owner has also put in ceiling mounted speakers in the bedroom, living room & bathroom so you can select where to listen to the music played on the stereo in the bedroom.

It started off badly when the invoice was for £50 more than the cost advertised on the website the owners use to rent their property. Apparently this was for 'Airport transfers', which I would never want as we always pick up our hire car at the airport! Considering the owner advertises 'half price airport transfers' this wouldn't even be a good deal, even if I had wanted airport transfers! (A taxi from the airport to El Nautico is around €15 each way).

The owner has decided to turn some of the standard walk-in wardrobe as personal storage, so there is less space for your stuff than there is in other apartments. The worst part of this is that he has moved the safe down onto the floor so you need to be down on your hands and knees to use it! This would be a real problem for any visitors with reduced mobility. (Ironic as the owner has a mobility scooter business in Tenerife!)

One of the great things about the complex is that every apartment has an allocated parking space in a secure underground car park. This has the added advantage that your car isn't roasting hot in the sun when you get into it. The parking space was not available to us for any of our stay as the owner has a trailer in it - despite the rental listing stating the parking space was provided, along with the guide book in the apartment telling you to ensure you park in the correct space for the apartment. The owners answer to this was to tell us just to park in another space - a move which did not go down at all well with reception and resulted in our car being parked in the street all week!

The bathroom was nowhere near as clean as the standard we have come to expect from other apartments in the complex.

The thing that made us certain that we will never use apartment 104 again came half way through the week when we got a phone call from reception asking if the owner could visit the apartment to 'collect a few things'. We reluctantly agreed and went out for lunch at the time he was to visit. On our return the air conditioning settings had been changed, bags of food and items in the kitchen had been moved. We found this to be wholly unacceptable!

All in all there is no taking away from the fact that El Nautico is a great place to spend time. We are back to stay in apartment 413 soon and look forward to seeing the staff in the complex, terrace and restaurant.

Room Tip: As others have said, higher numbers have the best views out over the pool and the ocean. Of the 5...
