“Do not go here for an all inclusive”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 June 2014

Stayed here for 5 nights begining of June 2014.
The hotel is a little dated but we were surprised with the size of our room. It was huge! (double room) The room was incredibly clean and spacious. Nice sized flatscreen tv. Balcony clean. Maids were very friendly as well as reception.
The pool is small but is being situated on a roof top means that you have access to the sun all round. It was nice and peaceful , not too many people.
NOW FOR THE BAD PART:
The food was not good at all. The breakfasts were actually quite nice but don't exepect normal sausages. They were frankfurter sausages cut up.
The lunches had nice salad dishes each day but some of the food was just reused from the day before or morning.
The dinners were very disappointing. Hardly any flavour, reheated from lunch and cold.
The snacks provided for AI board uis just reheated food from the morning. Bacon, sausages and chips.
The alcohol brands were good but the soft drinks just tasted like carbonated water with a hint of flavour. Not very nice. Icecreams you have to pay for from the Bar in hotel or by pool
The hotel is dated inside but a good place to stay if looking for B&B

When I first turned up to the hotel, I found that the sunrise apartments was closed. I called the number which i had seen on the door, which conveniently turned out to be the Royal Sun Hotel.
The Royal Sun Hotel was very helpful in the way that they changed a reservation from the Royal Sun suits to the Royal Sun Hotel. I had a child that come with me with special needs, so they put me and my son on the first floor, which I found very close in convenient to the reception.

There is plenty to do. What we loved about this hotel was that it gave you the possibility and free transport to the visit of a hotels.we visited two other hotels during our visit. There was additional excursions, some free of charge and some that required a partial charge. The beach was literally on the doorstep, which was really good. Plenty shopping centres, there's a little train that goes all around santa susanna. The cost was 4 euro per adult and 3 Euro per child. Little train goes right up to the mountains and comes right back down. The whole trip is about an hour. There was also a little H top cart and although this is free of charge, there is a 50 euro deposit. The rooms are very clean, staff is always helpful and friendly, overall a lovely hotel.

The bad points are there is no heated pool, and we didn't like the food. This was the case for all 3 of the H top hotels that we experienced. The recycling cards was a nuisance as well. A lady was very rude about my honesty that my child was autistic, this didn't help matters when another lady marched him out the ladies toilets while i was in a cubical (we was traveling alone and i wanted to keep him near, he was 7)

Overall it was a lovely holiday. I can not moan to say it was really cheap :)

We are a young couple that stayed here all inclusive for thankfully just 3 nights and 4 days, never will again!

This is most definitely not a 4* and not worth the money!

This hotel is extremely dated and reminded us of an old peoples home! Entertainment was dire! If your happy with 2 Spanish men playing keyboard and for the kids disco a young lad playing music off a laptop then great.

Do not go all inclusive! You are extremely limited on what drinks you can have and they give you 1/4pint size glasses. Food is terrible, it's the same every day, 3 times a day! The only snacks you can get on A.I is sandwiches and crisps, anything else you wanted you had to pay but with a 20% discount. The hotel also did not supply you with bottles of water, so we have to go to the shop everyday to buy our own.

Staff are very friendly and helpful!

There's much better hotels in Santa Susana with better entertainment that are only a 3*!!

We recently returned from a weeks stay at the Royal Sunsuites, overall a good value for money stay, food was good bearing in mind it had to cater for all nationality types, room was OK. Hotel decor and finishing is looking a little dated in places. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would recommend you go all inclusive as we went full board and had to pay for all drinks in the restaurant for lunch and dinner as well as outside meal times. Works out cheaper to go all inclusive. One negative and this is nothing to do with the hotel, if you book transfers to and from the airport, there is little communication from the shuttle company to advise of drop off and particularly pick up times at the end of the hotel. We would stay again at the Hotel but would look to go out of season.

Stayed here in an apartment for a few days (was supposed to be a week but we were moved, last-minute, to a sister hotel due to a lack of bookings after the Easter weekend - see separate review.)

Apartments were basic but clean & contained all that was required, with a good location, close to the centre of town & amenities such as a large supermarket, etc.

The food was plentiful & adequate (there was always something that should be to your taste, although it does become repetitive.)

The staff were all pleasant and helpful, although the hotel was mainly occupied by Spanish families when we visited, so things were mainly geared towards them - not a complaint though.

Overall this hotel represented excellent value for money - would definitely stay there agian for a cheap break.

For the money, this is an excellent choice. The staff were friendly and helpful and everywhere was clean, a real positive.

As a family of 5, we find it really difficult to find suitable accomodation, with one room to comfortably sleep us all. The suites, although basic and a little tired, are really spacious, with a lounge, dining and kitchen area, a bathroom and 2 bedrooms. An extra bed was put in the lounge for us, but managed to fit all 3 children into one bedroom. The maids visited daily and will happily change towels as required.

The comments regarding drinks are not valid in our experience. Yes, you are allowed one drink per person per time, but you can go up as many times as you like and glasses were of standard size. There was nothing we asked for that wasn't included, though some things aren't and there is a list. Vodka, Rum, wine, some cocktails, all soft drinks were all included. All served friendlily with ice and a slice! The bar snacks were average, but crisps were good and freely given if asked for! The restaurant offers full english cooked and continental cold breakfast. Lunch and Dinner, buffet style, offering a good selection, most of the time, with everyone able to find something they liked, which is a bonus!

The hotel Animation was good old-fashioned fun with a kids club, daily competitions, kids disco, light hearted audience-participation games (boys v girls etc) and even a reptile show! Vanessa, the Animator (!) (new to the hotel) is full of energy and a lot of fun.

You are very close to the beach, but the sea is freezing this time of the year! Also very close to shops and bars. A very nice stroll along the beach front to the right along the promenade. You can walk 40 minutes to the right along the beach to the next resort, which is very pretty.

The pool is on the roof, great views and again clean, but very windy and freezing as is not heated. This was a major down side for us travelling with 3 children. You can, however, use the pools of the other 2 HTop hotels in the resort, which are both on ground level, but also cold!

Unfortunately I asked for a sea view, which we got, but this also overlooked a building site! Luckily they stopped working over Easter, but may be worth considering.
There was also a small row of unassuming bars to the right of us, that turned out to be all nighters...... I would recommend asking for a room on the right hand side as you look at the hotel, or even to the front, although you overlook the car park, will be much quieter.

For the money we paid, this was incredibly good value. But you must be realistic with expectations... Spanish 4 star prob equates to 3 star but with the real bonus that everywhere is kept immaculately clean and the staff work really hard 24/7 to maintain this. All you can eat and drink for a family of 5, catering for all tastes and no-one went hungry!

Room Tip: corner family suites really spacious and slept 5 comfortably. Ask for front or right hand side of ho...

Reading some of these review is a joke! Please ignore the bad reviews. That's a perfect example of exaggeration!

Previously me and 3 friends stayed here for a weeks stay. When arrived we were checked in extremely quickly and the staff were very polite. The rooms are average but most importantly, they are clean! Never once did I have anything to complain about in our rooms. Our towels were changed daily by the friendly maids.

The food here is above average. Every day you would be presented with a variety of pastas, salads, meats, desserts, drinks. Unless your looking for a 5 star meal then you had nothing to complain about. The bar staff here are extremely friendly. Always asking how are day was, if we are enjoying our stay.

The only down side to the hotel are the pools. If your a person who loves spending time in the pool then this is not the hotel to stay in. Both pools are extremely small compared to some hotels I have stayed in before. There are not many sun beds about so you need to reserve your bed rather early. Also, by the time it gets to 2pm the sun is blocked and the pools are in the shade. Although, this did my bother my and my friends as the hotel is literally right in the beach. A 20 second walk and your on the beach. We had no need to worry about the pools as we had miles and miles of sand to enjoy.

Overall, you do get what you pay for. Having said that it is not a bad hotel to stay at at all!
