a very nice hotel in a beautiful situation close to the beach, however its access from the beachside to the other side of the track is poor if you are not able bodied.staff are always ready to help and offer assistance.good value for money.

Hotel and rooms spotless.Excellent sea view. All staff very friendly.Great service.Don't understand the bad reviews about the food.Dining room well organised and a good selection of food.We ate out a few times but certainly didn't need to as there was a selection of Spanish cuisine and also food to suit the less adventurous.Perhaps people expect 5 star food for 3 star pricesor don't like Spanish food but I don't want to go to spain and eat egg and chips. If I did would go to Blackpool.Excellent value and the local drinks were very good.Waiter service excellent.Maid service excellent.Entertainment not great but with such friendly staff and a warm welcome ,we made our own entertainment and it was out of their main tourist season. Only a short pleasant walk into the main resort with a good selection of bars and eating places. This is an excellent base for enjoying all that Santa Susanna has to offer. We stayed in Santa Susanna last year and I have to say this was a far superior hotel in all aspects.I hope to return very soon.

The views overlooking the beach and sea are really very good especially from the lovely bar terrace, the hotel bar was comfortable and the drinks were reasonably priced and the bar staff polite and friendly.
The food could only be described as poor at both breakfast and dinner, there was limited choice and some of it that had labels were clearly incorrect, I have never seen turkey steaks with a circular bone through the middle of every slice. The first rooom that we were given was a small room on the 5th floor with very narrow twin beds after complaining to the manager we were given a much bigger corner room on the 4th floor with a sea view and window in the bathroom so that you could shower and enjoy the view.
The rooms are basic, no hairdryer, shampoo, shower gel , our room only had 1 spare plug socket on the other side of the room from the dressing table so we had to use our hairdryer in the bathroom, not the safest option but a necessity. The room had a safe which costs 29 euro for the week but you get 10 euro back, if you want to watch the small portable TV perched high up on the wall you can get a remote for 10 euro refundable deposit.
The sunbeds around the pool are not adjustable and therefore were very uncomfortable as there are no mattresses provided.
The coach dropped us off on the other side of the train line so you have to negotiate a dark and dingy underpass with your luggage and not to mention the steps both sides. as you are on the beach side of Santa Susanna if you want to get into the resort you will become very familiar with the numerous underpasses dotted about.
The hotel is the very last one at the end of the resort and it is a walk to get to the other hotels shops etc there are very few bars in the vicinity unless you want to drink in the hotels. so ladies take some comfy shoes.
If the owners of the hotel could spend some money upgrading it could be very nice due to the beach front location

On arrival at Hotel at 8.00 am, coach had to park on the other side of railway line. Hotel is accessible via steps into an under pass which is without hand rails and water seeps in via the walls. On 13 of our 14 nights stay, lights did not work. At reception we were told our room would not be available till after 1.00pm. Finally obtained room key at 2.00pm. Room was fine but on openning balcony door to see our view we were greeted by the tops of 3 palm trees which blotted out complete view (see picture 1). It took 3days to obtain a new room. New room had seaview and sunshine all day. I thought that reviews I had read before about the food were because the Hotel was catering for a variety of tastes, how wrong could I be it is the worst food I have tasted on 15 visits to Spain. The restaurant is run by an accountant not a chef. He is also into recycling all food leftovers. Perhaps this is why no Chef (hanging his head in shame) was seen for whole stay. Entertainment was not seen due to dining out every night along with 90% plus of other visitors.

Hotel Caprici, Santa Susanna
We stayed at the hotel in two weeks and got a clear picture of the hotel and the area, which maybe is useful for other visitors.
The hotel is a 3 star hotel, but I just can give one star for their food and service at the restaurant. Especially breakfast was a disaster. So if you want a food adventure, don’t go to Hotel Caprici and actually don’t go to Spain. After I have travelled to Spain several times, I have stopped complaining about German food. The staff at restaurant were always in rush and dropped and braked things. It is actually wrong to call it for a restaurant. It is a Café terria. The staffs at the reception were very helpful and professional.
In my opinion the hotels location, right beside the beach, gets 5 stars, because you can directly go to the beach from the hotels pool and bar. It was very practical regarding our children, who couldn’t stay at the beach for longer time. The hotel is also right beside the train station if you want to go to Barcelona; even our trip to Barcelona was quite disappointing. The city was not charming at all as we expected. How ever, you can sail from right beside the hotel along Costa Brava to Tossa de Mar. It costs about 21 euro and it was worth it. We visited Blanes too. They are small towns, but much better than Barcelona. Santa Cristina is also on the way and has the most beautiful beach. The hotel is located in the end of Santa susanna, away from other hotels, which I prefer. But you can go every evening through a kind of bazaar to Santa Susanna Centrum with a lot of soviniours shops. We went for a walk every evening and it was very nice.
A big part of tourists was polish and Russian, but don’t get negative, because their behaviour actually was much more civilized than many other tourists from western countries.

We used this hotel as a base to go to the Moto GP at the Circuit of Catalunya. The hotel was very clean. The rooms were spacious and beds comfortable. Only thing missing was shower gel and shampoo in the rooms.
The location was perfect for the beach. You walked out the door and there it was. It was also very private around the pool.
The train station was very convenient, across the road.
I had read the previous reviews about the food and was concerned. The food was excellent. We had breakfast and evening meals for 3 days and they were great. There was plenty of variety. We would definitely return to Hotel Caprici.

Booked a late deal here in September 2006. Bargain for £208 half board. Hotel was nice and clean, rooms simple but comfortable. Breakfast was okay (plenty of cereals, toast, pastries etc) but the evening meals were rubbish. We ate out during the day and just went for a "pick" in the evening. Pigs Feet on the menu one night! (thought this dish stopped after rationing?). No vegetarian option although there was a selection of vegetables each night. Accommodation was good value for the money as the hotel was right on the beach, fab train service behind the hotel, and the shops were a short walk away. Would go back again but only on a B&B basis.
