We stayed at the hotel for a week in May 2014. The hotel has recently been renovated to a pretty high standard.

The food available in the restaurant is of good quality and there's always a good choice. It can get quite busy at meal times, so be prepared to wait.

The rooms are comfortable, if not slightly small, and there isn't much sound insulation so I would recommend ear plugs for anybody who isn't a heavy sleeper.

The spa is pretty good for €6 with a sauna, steam room, plunge pool and a pool that has a constant temperature of around 42°C although this sometimes seems slightly cooler. The only disappointment is the jacuzzi, which is part of the main pool and the temperature is therefore not warm enough. Having said that, it is definitely one of the better spa facilities in hotels that we have visited.

It can be accessed from either Girona or Barcelona airports so it is quite easy to get to.

First of all the staff at this hotel were not at all helpful. Any dispute was made to appear as though they had tried to resolve the problem but all they did was go into the back room and then say the problem could not be resolved unless you paid for the privilege. The hotel states that it had free wifi in reception areas and you have to ask for login details at reception but when you applied for this at the reception you are told that the Wi-Fi was painfully slow and you would be better using the faster Wi-Fi at a cost of 4 euro's a day which is accessible in your room as well but you could only access Wi-Fi using 1 i-pad or 1 laptop at once even though you still had to login which was designated to your room thus making it impossible to play an interactive game amongst your family. The rooms were advertised as most had got either pool or sea view but it was most hadn't got either and when this was brought to there attention you are told you could upgrade for 4 euro's per person per day, the food in the restaurant was mainly cold due to no heating unit under the food when it was set out to be served so you have to warm most meals up in the microwave oven. A lot of the facilities at this hotel have top be paid for as extras. Most of hotels in this area had soft sun beds but not here, it does have a chilling out area on a first floor area with soft sun beds but children are not allowed unaccompanied
This hotel advertises as a 4 star but at the best its a 2 star plus.

Room Tip: If money is not a problem then be prepared to pay a small fortune to make this hotel more pleasant a...

Dear Mr Roy,

Thank you very much for your comments about your experience at our hotel. We really regret that your stay did not complete its complications.

Our main objective is to serve the customer as soon as possible and with eager willingness to help solving all the problems that arise during the stay. We will consider your comments to inform our reception to avoid this situation to repeat.

Our Wi-Fi system is certainly free in the public area and for that reason you were informed about the option of having Wi-Fi in the room, but being paid, according the prices you exposed. Unfortunately the access to the Wi-Fi system is a code for each device, so it is impossible to share this access on more devices. In response to your feedback we will analyze the possibility of asking our Wi-Fi provider if we can use the same code on different computers but for the moment this option is not allowed.

Our PREMIUM room service, whereby you mention an extra charge of 4€ per day a person, does not only have as extra pool view , but it also offers additional services such as pool towels, deck chairs on the terrace or free Wi-Fi in rooms included.

The refusal of letting children go to the solarium area ( area with more comfortable hammocks ) without adults, is exclusively for security reasons, being on the first floor can cause accidents if children are alone.

Hopefully you will give us another opportunity to serve you in our property to change your opinion about the hotel,,

On behalf of the entire team

has recently been refurbished and about time. The staff are ok but none seem over interested in there job. Check in is slow. But the lobby & bar area are now large ,light & airy The buffet at breakfast & dinner has a large variety of food but is slow to be replenished so you always have to queue for your meal. The rooms are on the small side but functional for a short stay.

By far the worse hotel experience in Europe! In spite of reservations made in September '13 for April '14 our room was not ready and we had to wait 5+ hours to get in; no attempt was made by staff to expedite maids to clean room and not even a coffee was offered while we waited. But that is just starters - room had ants and while I really didn't mind the extra guests (they were quiet) there was no attempt to exterminate them. We also made the mistake of taking partial board with our room. The food was always lukewarm at best on the serving lines and bread consistently stale. This hotel is rated 4 stars and it is barely a 2+. Do not use the Spa it is a complete rip off - staff has no customer focus doing minimal effort for an 85 euro pedicure. Hotel needs updating. On a positive note the public areas are very clean and the wait staff very friendly.

Room Tip: Go to another hotel!

Estimated Mr. Modu .

Thank you very much for your comments about your experience at our hotel. We really regret that your stay did not complete its expectations.

Our entire team of professionals always try to expedite all requests of our customers and give them solutions as quickly as possible. According your comments about the delay in giving your room, our reception and the responsible housekeeper, along with me, will analyze what happened to prevent repetition of such situations .

In reference to what has been said about the treatments and their cost, this is surely a mistake in information, we have a price list available, where you can see that a pedicure treatment with a foot massage has a cost of 40 € and a hand massage a cost of 30 €.

Hopefully you will give us another opportunity to serve you in our property to change your opinion about the hotel,

On behalf of the entire team

Yours faithfully

My husband and I stayed here for a week as part of a group trip at a discounted rate. Thank god it was discounted otherwise I would have been extremely upset. I don't normally stay at resorts, just regular hotels. The first day we got here our room was infested with ants on the forth floor. Housekeeping came, sprayed and swept promptly. I hate being nickle and dimed especially when I go on vacation. I knew we would have to pay for wifi in our room. Their website did not state that wifi could only used on one device at a time. My husband and I had to purchase two wifi passwords so he could be on his kindle as I watched movies in the evening. The website also does not state that you must pay to use the indoor pool and everyone, including men, must use swim caps which are also available for a fee. We also found out that you must pay to use towels at the indoor spa pool or pay a deposit to the front desk to take a towel to the outdoor pool. I bought a towel just out of principle. It was too cool to use the outdoor pool and I refuse to pay a daily fee for towels. I had some spa treatments done so I was allowed to use the indoor pool free of extra charge. We took the train in to Barcelona for an extremely inexpensive fare of 20 euros for two people round trip. Based on our train ride and other bus trips throughout the surrounding area Santa Susanna appears to be the nicest beach town in the immediate area. Every evening is a street market from 6pm until 10pm. There was a lovely soap vendor and other various nick nack vendors. We checked out the Sunday Market at Carrerfour which the hotel marketed as a market of Catalan goods. We live in Europe and visit many markets and were thoroughly unimpressed. We could not find anything out of the ordinary, clothes, food, etc. I was hoping for some local hand crafted items to take home as gifts but left empty handed. I was extremely pleased with the spa treatments I received from Ms. Lidia. Between her limited English and my basic Spanish we were able to communicate effectively. She did a lovely job and was very pleasant. My husband and I were also very happy with the buffet breakfast and dinner. Lots of options and always fresh fruit. I wish I could have gotten plain water instead of watered down orange juice in the morning. Otherwise no complaints about food. There are tons of restaurants up and down the main boulevard including a British bar just off the main boulevard. We didn't get a chance to visit but it's worth noting. The beds are quite hard for a hotel marketed as a four star hotel. The bathroom has bidet. The only place I have seen one of those is in my parent's house lol. If we ever come back to the Catalan Region we will stay in Barcelona instead of this resort.

We've stayed here 3 times as a family, 1st time we were Self Catering and 2nd and 3rd time we stayed AI. on alk 3 occasions we were treated like royalty NOTHING was too much trouble for any of the staff. Clean well appointed rooms fresh linen every 3 days towels daily. Food is from across Europe and can be a tad spicy for the less travelled palate. All in all 3 excellent stays and we will be back. Tip ask for a top floor pool view room as others either over look hotels or fields and busy by pass. Also the €3 landtrain trip us well worth a go going into the local high towns
