“New appartment "Zeestijl"”
Reviewed 23 April 2012

We have been already several times to Bommelje and love this hotel. The new appartement was a little bit dissapointing, as we paid 120 EUR per night and the view from the window and terazze - as this appartment was ground floor - was not so nice. The view was onto the parking side of the golf club, which is nothing you would spent outside other people watching you. There will be greens growing over the next year and then it will be better, but as this is just brand new it will take some time. Appartment was - like Bommelje stil - wonderful furnitured, everything brand new and with stile. Very close to the beach and not too far away from the Hotel to get breakfast there if you like. Very good was the garage directly in the building. We will definetly come back, but i think will take a hotel room instead. :-)

Room Tip: If you like a view do not take this appartement.

This was our second visit and we will soon be going back. Just love how they manage to create such a relaxing hotel with so many kids around.

We have a 10 month old and a nearly 3 yr old and booked a family suite - spacious and all. Two interconnecting rooms, kitchinette, balcony - nice view to the back. Not sure about whirlpool style bath so put my girls in the shower.

The breakfast buffet is great 8 -11 am and so is the restaurant for dinner- they made pasta dishes for the girls and changed bits on the menu for me. Eating there is great - very relaxing and even with 2 kids we managed to have rather long breakfasts and dinners. Kids slept very long so by the time we had a coffee in the room and were all ready, it was often 9.30 - 10 so good that it is open till 11am.

If like us you have got a baby, be aware that there is no microwave in the room. They set up a cotbed but we have a junior airbed for her and toddler slept on the sofabed.

Service in the restaurant is great, reception, too - only one receptionist smiles noticeably less than the others.

My only thing is housekeeping - it is clean but if your sheets get dirty don't expect them to be changed ... we ended up after 4 nights with ribena stains, coffee stains and only after we asked were they changed. Sheets are put on inside out etc .. duvet covers leisurely pulled back rather than a proper made bed. The bathroom could also do with a deep clean - loads of dust on extractor fan ...

Daily housekeeping starts on the first floor so if like us you are on the third don't be surprised if your room is not made by 2.30 pm. I spoke to reception about this as I could not put girls down for a nap and they said to clarify this upon arrival and they will make room earlier.

It's getting a bit out of date overall. Maybe we noticed it because we were rather unlucky as the weather was not that great but the rooms are just not as trendy anymore as years ago. The bathrom is very small and just not modern enough, shame that you can't put your towel anywhere.
The breakfast is still good, we only had one diner which was not bad either. Our stay was good but for the money it is just not the right value anymore.

This is a very nice family hotel. Close to the sea, the rooms are spacious with wooden floors and a little kitchen. So you can choose to cook for yourself or go to the excellent but quiet expensive restaurant that is integrated in the hotel. Breakfast buffet is not included in the price for the room but really worth it if you are a breakfast person. Staff is friendly & speaks english even if german is clearly prefered. It's a little noisy but I guess that comes with Domburg being an family location. Bikes can be rented at the hotel but they were out of them when I was there. There is a bike rental in the main street.

We stayed two nights at the Bommelje. From the time we arrived at reception until we checked out, everything was done professionally.
The room was large, comforatble, well furnished and clean. We had a balcolny that would have been great to sit on had the weather been better.
We booked a package that included evening meals and these were both first class. Not the sort of meal where quantity leaves you feeling full and uncomfortable but meals that were characterised by good quality ingredients, well cooked and presented and served by attentive staff.
Our package also included high tea on the day of departure but when we arrived, we told the receptionist that we would be leaving after breakfast. Without any hesitation she said that the Hotel would provide us with a packed lunch instead, and this they did - excellent it was too.
The location of the hotel in Domburg is good. It is less than five minutes from the centre but is in a quiet street - we had very peaceful nights, no noise from the surrounding area or from other rooms.
We did know that Domburg was popular with German visitors but hadn't realised just how much the hotels and restaurants were dominated by Germans, to the extent that information in tourist office, and the hotel, is all in Dutch and German - maybe the one small thing that the Bommelje could do to improve is to have guest information in English too, not just for UK visitors but also those who are neither Dutch nor German speakers - we noticed in the Hotel that there were French speakers who were talking to the staff in English.
When we first looked at what we were paying it seemed a little expenisve but based on our experience, it was value for money.
We would certainly recommend this Hotel to any visitors - it's well run, and quality is clearly important to them.

This apparthotel, situated at 2 minutes from the beach, combines modern design and comfort. The spacious rooms and their beautiful furnishing as well as the cleanliness make you immediately feel at home. The staff is competent and very friendly, the kitchen of the restaurant "B" is excellent.

Just returned from a 4 night stay at the Bommelje, which we chose based on previous reviews on this site. The room was bright, modern and clean, comfortable beds (but hard pillows)! Excellent breakfast buffet and good, friendly service. We were given a room at the back of the hotel which did have a balcony but, as the weather was mainly wet and windy, was not used. We did notice, though, that our room did not receive any sun during the day (when it was shining that is) so if you want to have a sunny balcony, do not ask for rooms 101 - 109! We seemed to be the only English guests and have to say that there is nothing available published in English, either in the hotel or elsewhere in Domburg for that matter! At the Tourist Information Office we were told they only had one publication in an English version, which was a town map, everything else is in German or Dutch. Overall, we enjoyed the hotel and the town - very quiet but very much geared to the German tourist, with prices to match!!
