“An excellent place to stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 April 2012

From the moment we arrived this B and B was a delight. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful and our room was perfect - a huge and very comfortable bed and a very well-equipped bathoom.
There is also a separate lounge with TV for guests to use - a real home from home.
Breakfast was a delight with a choice of four different types of fresh fish all caught by Robert. We chose pollack as we had never tried it before and it was delicious. Breakfast also consisted of a large choice of cereals and a platter of fresh fruit as well as toast and preserves. There was great attention to detail with pristinely clean table linen and lovely crockery. I would give this place 10 out of 10 and would not hesitate to recommend it.This should be the benchmark for B and Bs.

We stayed here for four nights at the end of March, and couldn't have chosen a nicer place. Penny and Robert welcomed us warmly and we really felt at home. Our room was huge, with an immaculate bathroom and an enormous and very comfortable bed. We had a lovely view over the harbour and out to sea, and appreciated the really quiet situation. The harbour and all the restaurants, pubs, shops etc are only a couple of minutes walk away, and parking is easy just outside the house. We were treated to fresh fish for breakfast (caught by Robert) as well as generous and beautiful platters of fresh fruit and a wide range of cereals and yoghourt. The traditional breakfast was available too, if you wanted it. In addition to the lovely room, there is a comfortable sitting room with open fireplace and television which guests can use, and a pretty garden too. All in all a lovely place to stay and we can recommend it without hesitation. You'll love it!

Room Tip: The rooms at the front of the house have a marvellous sea view.

We have stayed at Rosemorran a number of times over the last two years. It is an excellent B&B. Penny and Robert make you most welcome, the rooms are bright, clean, very comfortable and the breakfast is excellent. Could not expect more from this type of accommodation. Would thoroughly recommend staying here.

Rosemorran is situated in a quiet neighbourhood uphill of Porthleven. From the window of our room we had a great sea view. Getting down to the small fishing harbour only takes about 5 min of walk. The room is kept in a modern style and very clean. The bathroom is quite small, but big enough for the two of us.
Our hosts, Penny and Robert, are most amiable and helpful people. As Robert is a real fisherman we got fresh fish for breakfast every morning (although you can have 'normal' English breakfast, too), which seemed a bit strange at first but turned out to be very delicious. Penny serves freshly cut fruit as a starter, too. We stayed there for 4 nights and will surely come back one day if we visit beautiful Cornwall again.

Rosemorran is a really nice B&B with pleasant, comfortable rooms and friendly owners. It's in a quiet residential bit of Porthleven about 10 minutes' walk from the harbour and most of the shops and restaurants. It doesn't look that inviting from the outside (grey, as are many of the houses in that area!), but is really nice inside - our room had a sea view, and was pleasant and clean with an ensuite bathroom. My only complaint is that the bed wasn't that comfortable for me - far too soft. But that's personal preference I guess. Breakfast was lovely (and plentiful) - very good value indeed.

Now, when you look at the front of Rosemorran B&B (which we booked in advance) it seems a little bit...let's say sad, mainly because of the gray colour (which isn't in fact uncommon in that area). But don't be deceived! We had a very warm and friendly welcome by the hosts Penny and Robert (and the dog as well :-) ) and soon felt like at home. Our room (twin) had no sea view (which was no problem for us), others face Porthleven Haven and the sea beyond which is only a few minutes on foot. The room featured a terrestrial digital TV, the bathroom was quite spacious and with bathtub. Altogether fine and nothing to complain about. Now, breakfast was really excellent. Complete English Breakfast (or just parts of it, if you wish) really perfectly made, altogether absolutely tasty. You can also get fresh fish, which isn't to be wondered as Robert's also a local fisherman. Just beside the breakfast room there's a comfortable lounge with chairs for talking and reading on a rainy day, to the other hand you look right into the garden.
Altogether we loved our breakfast there, not only because of the fine food but also because our hosts were so personable and humorous. We stayed there for three days and will definitely again on our next Cornwall trip.
We really enjoyed our stay there and thus recommend this B&B without reservation.
