If I were to review this B&B solely on the premises and service it would be a three star review but still a B&B I would recommend. However, the beautiful setting and truly wonderful view we had from the rooms make this a four.

The B&B itself is relatively modest, the rooms are smart and tidy but in no way luxurious and the bathrooms are a little on the small side. The breakfast was good, well good and a reasonable selection to choose from. In terms of service, we didn't need much from the owner but she was very nice and offered a few tips for what we needed in Porthleven.

As I say, the views from the room and outside the B&B are truly stunning and a real highlight. It's probably some of the best I've ever had from any hotel/B&B. The B&B is very fairly priced and therefore I would strongly recommend. We did part of the coastal walk from Porthleven to Kennack the next day (taking in the Lizard) and would strongly recommend walking along the coast down here if you can manage it with transport.

Location was stunning!!!! What a view!!! We stayed here for two nights and loved every minute of it. The room was great, very clean and comfortable with great sea view. Breakfast was great. It's only few minutes walk to city centre by costal path(would recommend a fleshlight when returning back to your room if it's night time). We would highly recommend!

Overlooking nothing but the ocean this is an unusual looking house with history. I loved everything about it. I stayed one night in the winter and would recommend it to anyone seeking a unique place to stay. A very nice walk to Porthleven via a costal path. Highly recommended.

This was the most stunning B&B location on our Devon and Cornwall road trip.

Booked only weeks before and was perhaps there smallest room (no 4) though in fairness Sam did tell me that before I agreed to book, so fair play. It still had a great view, but through a much smaller window !

It was really a little too small for us, and we were very envious of the guests that had the bigger rooms facing the front ...... deffinately booking one of these next time, the one with the bath would suit us down to the ground.

Sam and Stuart are a very relaxed and informal couple who run this B&B as a lifestyle choice, shorts and flip flops the order of the day, made us feel right at home.

The breakfasts were very good, got Allan started off on the eggs benedict, which he tells me where the best we had on our weeks travel. Compliments to the chefs !

The location is stunning, takes your breath away and is good for the soul, spent time sitting on the bench staring out to sea and de stressing .... what it must be like to live there and experience this every day, no wonder Sam and Stuart appear to be so laid back.

Having owned larger dogs in the past, meeting Diesel the dalmation was a treat, big dog cuddles and he even tried to get in the car with us one morning ... seeing him trot off down the coastal path with his little partner in crime made us smile so much.

We really loved it here, yes the room was a bit small, OK I could have bought my cobweb flicker and we had to shower rather quickly as the tray kept filling up, but we only have good memories of our two night stay here.

Without question we would recomend "Beacon Crag" to anyone wanting to walk the coastal path, take a few days or a weeks break and we will definately be returning, we are so hooked on the place that we are already looking at when we will be able to return.

So thank you Sam & Stuart for such a memorable stop over on our road trip and hope to see you again real soon.

PS ... Give Diesel a hug from us x

Kind regards
Helen & Allan Player

Room Tip: The two rooms at the front are larger and have the biggest windows to take in the wonderful panorami...

Beautiful home with stunning views. Well-maintained rooms and very clean. Excellent breakfast. From the house, you arrive in a few minutes in the centre of the Little and lovely Town through a passage that runs along the coast,(I suggest you bring a flashlight for the return if already night)The Dalmatian puppy that that runs in the garden is very sweet. Definitely to be recommended. I'm sure I'll be back there when in the area.

We stayed here for the second time for two nights in early August. Nothing not to recommend it. Wonderful house, wonderful rooms, wonderful view and wonderful breakfast. Porthleven is a 10 minute easy walk on the cliff path from the front of the house and is a lovely place to spend a few hours. A great base for the Lizard area of Cornwall and beyond. Looking forward to going back soon.
