The breakfast is lovely, lots of it, staff are really nice. Room was spotless as was the bathroom. Comfy bed and beautiful clean white towels. View (if you get the right room) is superb. On the down side, not a fan of shower over bath - in fact the one in our room was in our opinion bordering on dangerous - the bath was very high, also the shower screen did not move so adjusting the temperature of the water is tricky. Don't plan an early night on a Saturday as the ear plugs provided are as much use as a chocolate fire guard. However the "so called" music does end promptly at 11 pm. As we have stayed before we knew what to expect - so went out, Have marked down on value - when you think about it anyone staying for a week would pay around the £700 mark at the end of the day - yes it is in a great location but its still a pub doing B & B.

Stopped here overnight when walking our latest section of the SWCP. Very good location, although our room over the bar at the front was a little noisy - that said, we did not end up having to use the ear plugs that were kindly provided!
The room was OK as was breakfast in the morning, although the bed could have been better as I did not get a great night's sleep.

Another one night stop over on our progress round the SWCP. The room was clean, warm and comfortable despite no view. For one night this was no issue. It looked as though our room, no. 9, had been recently decorated and the en-suite facilities were brand new. Suspicious ear plugs by the bed were not needed. We took our meal in the bar area and it was typical pub food. Large choice of sweets and beer and wines were tasty. Breakfast was a choice of cereals etc followed by the traditional choice from the full English menu plus one or two more exotic plates. Small choice of places for walkers to stay in Porthleven but this ticked most of the boxes. We would be quite happy to stay here again, but don't expect 5* dining.

Room Tip: Ask if it is music night and why the ear plugs.

The pub is located in the heart of Porthleven, in the middle of the harbour. Great and suggestive location, a must if you are visiting Cornwalls. The pub is a classical english pub, quite welcoming, tables a bit sticky. There is a good selection of food and the prices are fair. Service is ok, nothing special, but no issues, maybe a bit cold. The food was normal, nothing special but not bad, average. I had the trio of fishes, a bit tasteless, but quite fresh. Desserts were really inviting and rather goods, all in all an average experience, without anything bad or outstandingly good. Plenty of alternatives if you are visiting the town.

we were warned on arrival that there was a band playing on the Saturday night and for that reason, earplugs were provided in our room. the band was so loud that even with the earplugs, there was no chance of sleep before 11pm.
the standard double room was of a good size and well decorated/furnished and spotlessly clean. I didn't really like the very soft mattress, but that's a personal opinion. the floorboards were very creaky, but you should expect that in an old building.
bathroom has and shower over a decent sized bath and all new fixtures and fittings, including a square toilet which isn't very comfortable.
the WiFi is free, but terribly slow.
as other reviewers have said, the main bar is noisy when there's sports on the TV, but there is the Lounge bar where food is served, including the complimentary breakfast which is cooked to order.
the main reason to choose this Inn over other accommodation in the area is the location. right on the harbour with plenty of free parking. secondly the staff are always friendly and will go out of their way to help you with anything.
overall I was very happy with my stay.

Room Tip: only 4 rooms at the front have a view of the harbour, including the single room. expect a significa...

We found a really good, carefully modernised old Inn. The rooms were very clean, good beds, very friendly, genuine Cornish staff, great breakfast. The location is superb - the Harbour Inn truly sits in the middle of Porthleven harbour.
We loved the earplugs that were provided to keep out the live music played in the pub this evening...
