I have recently just left the beautiful Porthleven after a weekend away from London with my Parnter.

We stayed in the B&B and ate at Kota Kai each morning and also dined in kota, plus managed to be treated to take away deserts! I would highly reccomend to try boat! It is rear that you manage to come across new concepts put of London but neiter of the restaurants failed on this. We meet both of the owners and it is was truley refeshing to speak with them as their genuine passion for the industry is very obvious, they are both masters bothr Front of House and in the Kitchen!

Well done 10/10! We will be back

We booked here over the phone last minute not long before leaving work and were delightfully booked in. We arrived and were seated straight away and were looked after all evening by great friendly staff and served with splendid tasty food. The veg plate was brilliant and something different than just a choice if veg lasagne or tomato soup which a lot of places think you have to eat now if you are a veggie! But not here a plate of 4 different things to try which was delicious. All followed by delicious home made puddings. The chef and kitchen crew are marvellous along with the friendly helpful waiting staff a great place to eat.

We spent ten days in Cornwall, eating out, and this was the best experience of all for my wife and I. The name and Maori origin of the chef made us uncertain at first, but the food was excellent. You need to check opening times to avoid disappointment. Otherwise, it's not just an addition to our list of restaurants in south Cornwall - it tops the list.

From entering the restaurant until leaving over 2 hours later, we were made to feel welcomed and relaxed. We were shown to our table by a very friendly and helpful male waiter and he remained our waiter for the evening. The menu was varied and we ordered from both the special 2 course menu and from the a la carte menu. They were very accommodating when our daughter requested a starter as a main course serving. We were also surprised by by the little extras, tasty amuse bouche and home baked bread. The food was fabulous and we were left very satisfied and contented. Will definitely be back next time we are staying in the area!

Gorgeous food, beautifully presented & staff could not have been friendlier or more accommodating (I had booked Kota Kai by mistake but they still found us a great table!). It was a fantastic meal and we'll be back - if you're in Porthleven, you must go!
