My husband has happy memories of staying at this hotel on family holidays in the 1970's and this prompted us to choose Woodlands again when we visited Teignmouth. We stayed for four nights and it is a great place to stay. The old house is truly beautiful with large rooms and the most stunning views of the sea and Teignmouth from the bedroom windows. Our room had a large en-suite with a bath and a separate shower cubical which was excellent. There was a good quality flat screen tv in the room which we found to be a real bonus and the tea and coffee making facilities in the room were also a nice touch. The breakfast is second to none - delicious!
The hosts are very welcoming and the location of the hotel is superb. It's just two minutes walk from the railway station and another two minutes down into the town centre/sea front area with all the facilities it has to offer. This means that walking into Teignmouth for an evening meal is really easy - there are lots of hills though (which we noticed, coming from a much flatter Norfolk!).
Woodlands is clean and comfortable and in my view, great value for money.More
