“Excellent week's holiday during Teinmouth Golf Festival”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 July 2012

Both Brian and Nicky (owners) made us very welcome and helpful. Room was very clean with a bathroom ensuite and close to the sea front. Breakfast was included with the room and Brian (master chef) was able to provide us with an excellent choice cooked to our requirements. Bar facility also available with a goopd choice of drinks. All in all both owners would "go a mile" to accomodate your requirements. Highly recommended. We have already pre-booked for next year's golf festival.

Room Tip: Very quiet all round.

We stayed overnight on Saturday 30th June and had a very enjoyable stay. We were met and shown to our room by Brian who was very welcoming. He was apologetic about the fact that our room was not en-suite but as we had exclusive use of a bathroom just down the corridor this was not a problem, especially as the room did have a small sink and vanity unit as well.
The room and bathroom were immaculate and we could not fault it.
Breakfast the next morning was excellent with quality food and very attentive service.
Loaction was great - a very short walk to the centre and on the seafront. Car parking was 2 minutes walk away in a Council car park but was only £2.90 for 24 hours.
I would certainly put htis at the top of our list to book if we are visiting this area again.

Room Tip: Room 5 has a separate exclusive bathroom - reflected in the price and not a problem for us. If you p...

We have just spent a three night stay at the Thornhill Hotel, quietly located overlooking the sea.
We arrived a little early but were welcomed by the delightful housekeeper who is credit to the propriotors. We were taken to our room which was perfect with a sea view, a huge kingsize bed with a wonderfully comfortable matress. Brian and Nicola go that extra mile by providing those little extras in your room like shower gel, bath robes and beautifully soft towels, tea making facilites with 5* biscuits and Hot chocolate, not expected at all. No expense spared!
Breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented in the very welcoming and bright dining room, nothing was too much trouble.
We decided to stay in this hotel due to its proximity to the train station, and were so pleased that we found this little gem and chose to stay here. We couldn't believe how quiet it was. We would definately return.

Room Tip: I would pay that little extra for a south facing seaview room.

We had a bedroom not facing the sea, but you could catch a glimpse. The bed was huge and comfy. The bathroom well appointed and with a very good shower...hot and powerful. Hosts had gone away for a special family weekend, but they made sure we knew about that, and the stand-in staff made us very welcome, looked after us really well, and made a cracking good breakfast. I would love to stay there again.

This Hotel is of a excellent standard, My bedroom overlooked the sea so I could read sat on the bed or in tthe chair and think I was sat on a balcony in Spain. The breakfast was top class and very hot, and plenty of it to set you up for the day!. I enjoyed chatting to Brian and Nicola about the love of F1 too.

Room Tip: Book Direct to the hotel

I really enjoyed my three day stay at The Thornhill Hotel in Teignmouth from Monday 25 June to Thursday 28 June 2012.
The 'disabled friendly' ground floor room was very spacious and my bed very comfortable. It suited me just fine.

I enjoyed chatting to the friendly host Brian and Nicola and eating the excellent breakfasts each morning. Lots of little extras included in the rooms that you would expect in a large three star hotel: There is no penny pinching as you get sometimes in B & B type hotels: I will certainly return ASAP.

Room Tip: A few metres from a heated outdoor swimming pool, the sea and the town centre with no hills to climb...
