Just a quick message to encourage anyone looking for somewhere to eat in Coggeshall to go here. I have never known such a friendly, welcoming value for money pub. Suffice to say I'm a big fan. :-)

On visiting the area we found the Woolpack to be an excellent pub. We had a fabulous meal and were made very welcome. So welcome that we went back each day of our stay.

A must visit if you are in the area and the 700 year old pub is stunningly authentic in its deco.

Good selection of beers, including Coggeshall’s Red Fox Brewery Red Fox. One of the best Sunday Roasts I’ve encountered in a pub and truly wonderful curries. Pub itself is busting at the seams with character, with nice seating area to side overlooking church and good sized beer garden at back. New owners have brought back a once no go zone (previous owners managed to ruin the Woolpack for most locals I know) to the quintessential English village pub it had previously been!

We had a great time last night
It was a perfect setting for our annual Xmas dinner.
I had goats cheese tart filled by the yummy roast beef.
Delicious!!!!
We will be back

We visited for a drink while our son played football up the road, lovely old building, landlord was very nice ,drink was great, lots of locals in all havin a laugh ,there was even a couple of well behaved dogs there, although we didn't have time to eat the menu looked really good and fairly priced.Newpapers in the rack ,a place for your coat and a fire that I'm sure will be roaring when the winter nights set in,can't wait to go back and try the food !
