Lovely B&B very welcoming, clean and efficient. Pub food was great in the evening and we took a fab evening stroll across the fields to Ashrigg Falls. Room was just what was need, clean and comfortable. Highly recommended.

We stayed here after walking the Herriot way for four days. It was a good place to rest after our walk. The inn seems to have set themselves a high standard and live up to it. We booked the small room, which was not crammed, and it was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom too was very clean and modern. The room was located above the pub, for which they warn you on their website, but the noise wasn't too bad and was over at 11.30 PM on a Thursday night. The food in the pub was really quite good, though service was a bit slow during breakfast, and breakfast hours are limited to 8.30 to 9.30 AM, which is a bit short and quite late for the active ones. Nevertheless, very good value for money.

Nice, pleasant stay. Nice toiletries but a really small bathroom! Comfortable bed and great breakfast. Lovely area, close drive to many beautiful villages and scenes. Shame the restaurant closes at 8.30!

We have stayed here a number of times over the years and have always found the place extremely welcoming. The food is excellent and the setting is perfect for exploring the Dales. A great place to stay.

We had the most magnificent stay over Le Tour de France weekend at the Wheatsheaf. Thank you Clare + Emily and your team for making it very memorable. Everyone was very friendly and helpful - Matt was very obliging with a particular menu dish for me. We stayed in the Annex and it was very nice, with our own 'front' door onto the car park. Lovely walks to be had from the door. We look forward to visiting you again - many thanks.

This was a bit of a last minute booking for a stop over whilst walking in the dales. Set in a quaint little village the inn has a friendly pub atmosphere. Dinner on the evening was excellent with good sized positions and a wonderful dessert. The rooms were basic but very comfortable and a nice hot power shower that was ideal after a long trek. A bargain for the price and a very tasty breakfast included.
