“Luxury Spa Break”
Reviewed 31 May 2012

Myself and a friend visited Feversham arms for a 1 night spa break. We had booked one of the stay and spa offers and thought it was excellent value for money. We had booked a classic room (Sunday night) and were upgraded to a pool suite which was fantastic. We were very lucky with the weather when we were there and it was glorious sun shine which made the outside pool area look amazing. The evening dinner was just delicious (we chose the 3 course menu) and was included in our room rate. We opted for Breakfast in our room the following morning and again quality and presentation was first class. The spa treatments were heavenly and we felt very relaxed and pampered after our stay. One of my favourite spa hotels in the UK!

Just returned from a one night stay with my wife and our friends, our room was fine, our friends was tired to say the least, we all had the taster menu and that's just what it was a "taster" and over-priced at £45 per head, the food was very dissapointing and we have certainly had better at the black swan around the corner and at other establishments over the years, our final bill came to over £620 for one night for 4 people breakfast included. we had one bottle of wine at dinner and a pre dinner drink and after dinner drink,

The breakfast was very good and the staff were excellant on saying that we asked for a jug of milk to be brought to the room it never arrived. The spa is acceptable but I would suggest nothing out of the ordinary by way of facilities from other similar types of hotel.

Maybe it was one of expectation, unfortunately on this occasion it failed to meet ours.

Just returned from a couple of days in North Yorkshire staying once again at the lovely Feversham Arms Hotel. Customer Service remains excellent and the rooms are lovely if becoming a little "battered" by use.
My major issue was with the quality of the food served. Ay dinner the only outstanding dish was the cheese board! The rest was inadequate in every regard. Stay here by all means but eat elsewhere.

Room Tip: Room 15 is a suite but in the loft area so plenty of rooms and space but no view.

We booked a recent food lovers experience. The cost for one night was £420. We were expecting the quality of the star inn or the pheasant both in Harome or the crab and lobster near Thirsk, places we have previously stayed.
The Feversham is actually more expensive than the above mentioned places. Our expectations we're not even closely met. For our afternoon cream tea we were left waiting for a long time despite repeated trips to ask where it was. We ended up having it in our room. Our bottle of red wine was ice cold when brought to our table for dinner. We were assured it would be warmed up and brought in time for our main course. It didn't appear despite reminding the staff about. It finally arrived when our main course was almost finished. We declined it and did not stay to finish our meal. The restaurant manager offered us drinks with our dessert or dessert in our room. We had not paid this much money to have afternoon tea and dessert in our room. The next morning we were awoken by an early morning call that we had not asked for. I lodged my concerns about the service we had had received with the assistant manager who was very aplogetic and did offer a reduction in our bill. We were assured that our experience was not the usual experience for their guests. Subsequently we have discovered that some of our family members and friends of friends have also not been impressed by this place.
Even if the service had run well, the quality of the food does not merit the cost of this place. It's nowhere near the same league as the pheasant, star inn or crab and lobster. These places are much better for quality of food, quality of service , and value. They are also much more romantic places with a nicer welcoming ambience.

stayed at this hotel for 2 night. the good points were lovely room and outstanding cheese board but the food let the hotel down. We chose the 'a la carte' options which is not really a la carte but a set menu of a number of choices in each of three courses. A true a la carte menu would have individual dishes priced, allowing diners to have as many courses as they wanted and not a fixed number. The set menu is not cheap at £45, but what let it down was the lack of flavours in the dishes. The watercress volente with crab was bland and did not have any pepperery flavours of watercress, and the crab flavour was almost non existance. We followed this with sirloin of veal which again sounded tasty on the menu, but we were served with noisette style pices of meat on tough celery and leeks (not just cooked al dente) with an extremely bland jus. The saving grace was the cheese board with an excellent selection, knowledgable sever and at a perfect tmperature, This is not the first time I have come across food that may look good but would appear not to have been tasted by the chef. Would recommend the hotel but eat elseware.

Stayed for my 21st with my mum and Nanna on the dinner bed and breakfast with elemis me time package. I had my own room, lovely and clean, very spacious. Dinner in the evening was gorgeous (and i am abit of a food critic myself). We could choose either the a la carte or 5 course tasting menu, we all opted for the a la carte. Food was delicious, no long waits and very attentive staff. I had a great night sleep, very comfortable bed. My mother and Nanna were woke up in the night by noise outside, but other than that they had a good night. We had a great breakfast, you could choose from fresh pastries, fruit smoothies and cereals and a hot breakfast. We then went down to the spa. We started in the heat experience which i was expecting to be a lot bigger but nevertheless it was nice and relaxing. We then went in for our treatments, which were amazing! The treatments were extremely relaxing, according to my mother she had 'an outer body experience' (must have been good!) we were absolutly gutted to leave the spa shortly after our treatments as we had such an amazing time. We would definitely return to feversham arms for another special occasion and would recommend it to anyone.

We stayed here at the weekend for the 'stress buster' package. I have to say from beginning to end, it was absolutely fabulous. The staff, food, service, rooms, attention to detail, spa, treatments, everything was amazing.

We didn't arrive until 8.30pm and were greeted by a lovely receptionist who showed us to our rooms and around the hotel. It is absolutely gorgeous and they pay great attention to detail...its always the little things that make a hotel special!

The food was absolutely lovely, and the banana desert I had was to die for! The waiters were also very good! Breakfast was also really good with a wide selection and the nicest croissant I have ever had apart from in France!

The spa was lovely, the massage was great and the friendliness of the staff really made the trip enjoyable! If there was one thing they could improve, it would be that the swimming pool wasn't that warm, and both that and the hot tub could have been cleaned out a bit better. This was the only thing that could of been made better.

We will definately be back!

Thank you feversham for making my fiance's birthday a memorable one!
