We started the Cleveland Walk off from here. Stayed just one night. Very helpful and friendly and good breakfast - would just have liked some fresh fruit. The room was quiet and it is easy walking distance to town. and a nice garden to sit in.

Room Tip: We had the room at the back which also had a fridge and small kitchenette which we did not use, but...

We stayed at Red Roofs B&B whilst at a friends wedding in Helmsley. It was just for one night, but we were made to feel extremely welcome. Jane and Marco were wonderful hosts. From our arrival on the Saturday lunch time, until we left after an beautifully cooked breakfast, all our needs were catered for.

Our two girls (12 and 16) had a twin room, next to our very spacious room, with en-suite bathroom. All the rooms were well stocked with tea, coffee, fruit teas and water. The towels were fluffy and the bathroom had luxurious bubble bath, shampoo and conditioner. The beds were extremely comfortable, with crisp white sheets.

A most wonderful place to stay - highly recommended. We will certainly be visiting again.

We stayed with Jane and Marco whilst walking the North Yorks Inn Way last June-July 2013 and by the end felt almost part of the family. We'd love to be able to return some time in the future.
Jane and Marco are true professionals in the best sense: warm, welcoming, attentive to all our needs and providing some of the most comfortable, stylish and spotlessly clean accommodation over the 9 days of our walk. It was a great comfort to know that we'd be spending two nights at the end of the holiday. Jane & Marco really understand the needs of walkers, especially those, like us, walking the long distance routes in the area. They were happy to accommodate our car in their drive for the length of the trek and were very happy to collect us at the end of the penultimate day's walk and return us next morning so that we could split the last 15 miles into two more manageable chunks.
Breakfast was excellent: home-made bread, wholesome cereals, fruit, mushrooms and tomatoes expertly cooked – all the things we love to fuel a long day's walk, eaten in their huge but surprisingly cosy conservatory/dining-room. Our room with ensuite bathroom was delightful: spacious in soothing shades with comfortable beds and lovely furniture including table, sofa and chairs. And Helmsley itself is a delightful place, Red Roofs placed in a peaceful road just a few minutes walk from the town square.
We'll always have very happy memories of this, our first and last B&B of a wonderful holiday, despite the intense heat. Thanks to both Jane and Marco for being so kind and welcoming.

Room Tip: The large room upstairs in the house is delightful, quiet, with views over the lovely garden. The s...

I stayed at Red Roofs for in the week for 8 weeks while working in Helmsley. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend this B&B. The rooms were spotless and had a lovely well stocked selection of tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Jane's cooked breakfast was really delicious, with local bacon, portabello mushrooms, free range eggs and toast made from fresh homemade bread.
Jane and Marco were excellent hosts, they were knowledgable about the local area and were more than happy to help with anything I needed. Helmsley is a beautiful village to visit for a relaxing short break, and I felt that staying here was great value for money.

Room Tip: The double en suite is a huge room, with a big en suite bathroom. There is also a smaller double and...
