“Relaxed atmosphere and a good b&b”
Reviewed 8 May 2014

Eastfield lodge is a good b&b with a very warm atmosphere. We had a large comfortable room with a pleasant shower room. We enjoyed our visit there very much. Extras included tea and cake, a good and secure heated room for cycles and boots etc. The team were very pleasant and helpful. The location is ideal, just a few minutes walk from Leyburn which has plenty of shops and pubs. The Lodge has an authentic atmosphere and you feel as if you really are in the Yorkshire Dales. We certainly would stay there again and good luck to the team in the future.

We completely agree with Jeff. A lovely place and an excellently organised cycling break which included sections of the Tour de France route. This was our second visit to Eastfield lodge having previously used it as a base for walking in Wensleydale and the Penninne Way. Well placed for both cycling and walking activities. The home cooking is pretty tastey too! Excellent breakfast.

Room Tip: Rooms at back and top are quieter, we choose room 8 from previous experience, it's smaller and a...

Colletts 4 day cycling break took in some magnificent scenery and each ride was extremely well planned and the daily selected mileages and elevation excellent, with demanding climbs and superb descents well timed throughout each day. Via, Thurza and the Eastfield Lodge team looked after us really well through out, with their friendly personal service, their lovely choice of breakfasts, afternoon hand made cakes and cookies, and a couple of really filling evening meals. A special thank you to Tom Riley our cycling guide / host who expertly guided us through the daily cycling itinerary, discussing the route plan, ensuring the correct number of breaks and kept the whole group together, making the overall experience, very enjoyable. I started this break as a solo rider but finished with a team of friends.

Our second visit to this excellent B&B.
Perfect venue for a group of friends for a weekend of walking. Clean, comfortable and good facilities including spotless rooms and bathrooms, a drying room for wet footwear, and a nice lounge with a small room off it with tea making facilities. Great cakes too!
Thanks to the team at Eastfield Lodge for another fantastic weekend

We normally stay in hotels, but were intrigued when we found this B&B at the back of Colletts brochure, so thought we'd give it a try. We're pleased we did! Everyone was very friendly and Vic, the manager, made us welcome right from the start - even though he wasn't expecting us until the following day. Breakfasts were fabulous with lots of choice and cooked to perfection, and when you come in from a day out there was always some fresh baking to tuck into. Besides big airy bedrooms there is a very comfortable lounge (with drink making facilities and biscuits as well as those in your room) and an office/map room with enough information on local attractions and walks to keep you going for years! In the hallway there are jars of sweets to help yourself to.

Our six night stay was very comfortable and we hope to return very soon (hopefully when the weather is a little kinder!) Eastfield Lodge (and Leyburn) is situated in some of the most beautiful scenery with excellent walking and sightseeing on the doorstep.

Many thanks to Vic,Thurza, Ash and Symon for a memorable stay.

Every thing about this B&B is excellent. You arrive to see a beautiful building standing in a commanding position overlooking the dales . We were greeted by the manager Vic who was very welcoming. He gave us a rundown of the premises and where we could find things to enjoy our stay . There was tea coffee and biscuits in the lounge available all day long just help yourself. For the children there were an array of sweets in jars . Just take a bag and some sweets for the daily travels. Bertie bassets my favourite . Our room was at the front with a large bay window overlooking the dales. Fantastic views, well equipped with tea coffee. En suit was well appointed and clean. When we came down from unpacking Vic was very helpful with things to do and see.
we were within striking distance of numerous attractions and spoilt for choice . Breakfast ranged from healthy serials, yogurts, fruit etc to a proper full Yorkshire should you desire. I took the full Yorkshire and it was cooked to perfection. If I come back to Leyburn I will have to stay here again.

Just back from a marvellous weekend with 11 family members for a wedding celebration. It was a perfect 3 days and Eastfield Lodge made a significant contribution. Lovely bedrooms, excellent food and a warm welcome. Would have no hesitation in recommending.
