we had a fantastic in this very cosy and quaint bed and breakfast. on arrival we were greeted by the owner who had made homemade banana cake and biscuits which were delicious. They were very friendly and made us feel very at home. The room we were staying in was spacious and had everything you needed in it and more. Although they didnt cook evening meals, they gave us the names of local pubs which were good to eat in. This is a lovely place and we only wish we had stayed there longer. Well done to both the owners on providing a very comfortable high class b and b.

We chose this B&B as a stop off for two nights on our way south - I can’t believe how lucky we were!
We were welcomed by the hosts on arrival and were shown to our lovely room; as we were the only people booked in we also had sole use of the guest sitting room. Breakfast was first-rate and full of variety - my particular favourites were the home-made granola and the (very) local eggs. The B&B is in a very quiet location, tucked away in a lovely valley with walks and beautiful countryside right on the doorstep, but there’s a pub a short walk away if you don’t want to drive for an evening meal.
I would recommend: A) While not at all necessary, you should consider paying the little bit extra to book the Shippon Suite so you have all the guest accommodation to yourself - the sitting room is really cosy with the fire going!; B) Don’t have anything to eat in the evening so you can do full justice to the breakfast.

Our second visit to this very cosy, friendly and welcoming B&B.
Exceptionally clean and a very high standard of accommodation.
The sort of place when you have stayed for one night you want to stay for the whole week.

The accomodation is in a stone built cottage a few minutes drive from Ingleton and ideally placed for 3 Peaks walking. Rooms are very nicely furnished and decorated and immaculately clean. We stayed in the "Shippon suite" which includes a double bedroom with en suite and exclusive use of a sitting/dining room where breakfast is served. The sitting room has a woodburning stove, sofa, easy chairs, fridge (with a bottle of wine, water and fresh milk), ipod dock and flatscreen satellite TV. The bedroom also has satellite TV and tea making facilities. On arrival the owners Jean and Martin Carter were very welcoming and made us fresh tea and coffee. Breakfasts were superb with home made bread, locally produced and home grown food and freshly brewed tea and coffee. Packed lunches are available on request and included sandwiches made with home made bread, really tasty home made banana bread and biscuits, fruit and water. We stayed 3 nights and had a great time.

We stayed at Croft Gate for 2 nights as a treat for my birthday, well what a treat!

We stayed in the Shippon Suite which meant we were the only guests at the B & B and because of this we had sole use of the lounge/dining area. The furnishings were of very high quality, with a flat screen TV and DVD player in both the lounge and bedroom. The bathroom was fitted to a high standard with shower cubicle, underfloor heating, heated towel rail and high quality organic products. The towels were nice and fluffy and bath robes were also provided. In the lounge area there is a log burning stove which Martin lights and keeps a check on but also all the radiators have individual thermostat controls on so you can be as hot or cold as you like! The quality of the breakfast was excellent, Martin and Jean pride themselves on using fresh and local produce wherever possible and the rhubarb straight from the garden served with greek yoghurt was delicious, as was the home made granola and the home made bread... We also ordered packed lunch which was more than adequate, the sandwiches were made from home made bread and we also had either home made fat rascal or banana bread, which we were very grateful for when we got to the top of Ingleborough!

The location is excellent for the 3 peaks but there are also many other walks on the doorstep and although we didn't feel the need to venture out in the car there were many places to visit within a 20-30 minute car journey.

Overall we had a delightful stay and Martin and Jean were very welcoming and helpful - my husband had arranged with Martin prior to our arrival to accept delivery of flowers for my birthday and keep them until the next day and sure enough on my birthday they were placed at the breakfast table - nothing seemed too much for them. We hope to return very soon...
