Got a half price Groupon deal, would have felt v.underwhelmed had we paid more! The staff, particularly Darren and Gary deserve praise, I would have been happy to feedback to more senior staff members, but they never appeared! Major investment needed in decor and facilities by senior management/owners in order to compete. Voiced opinion on checkout as thought it would be constructive and valued, not heard owt so dont know if passed on or ignored??? Any member of TA will know I always try to focus on positive.

Room Tip: Lesley advised me that rooms 7 & 8 were deluxe an therefore more expensive - I can only assume L...

Thank you for your review. I have noted your omments regarding the Marton Arms being a pub and not a hotel and can confirm that we do class our selves as a Country Inn and not a hotel. In regards to the hotel needing a refurb, we are decorting the hotel and this is still work in process. I am sorry I did not get to see you during your stay, your comments are very much welcomed. I hope to welcome you back in the near future.
Warmest Regards Lesley and Team

This was a perfect base for a short break in the Yorkshire Dales during a chilly week in April. We had a lovely 4 poster bed in a warm room. All the staff were friendly but professional and there were some nice touches that made all the difference e.g. the heating and towel rail had been turned on prior to our arrival. It is surprising how seldom this happens in the UK! Also we had booked a table in the restaurant and when we arrived there was a table by the log fire with a clock set at our time. Booking the restaurant is advised as it is clearly popular with the locals. The food was well cooked and presented. in the morning the breakfast chef made us personalised hot dishes with a smile.

We have just spent 3 nights at the Marton Arms and can strongly recommend it for your break in the Dales. This is our second stay here and we will return again, as there is so much to see in this area - caves, viaduct, Wenyslydale cheese factory, Malham cove, and numerous waterfalls. We had a room with a 4 poster bed which was very comfortable. The room overlooked the dales and was very clean with tea and coffee facilities and a hot powerful shower in the en suite. We had an evening meal every night which was delicious - compliments to the chef - and plentiful. Breakfast consisted of a buffet of cereal, yogurts, fruit and juices then we had a choice of hot food after which included: kippers, smoked haddock with poached egg, a full English breakfast plus many other options. Thank you Lesley and your team for making our break a fantastic one. See you again.

We live locally and so decided to walk from Ingleton to The Marton for our evening meal. The service was excellent and all of the staff were very friendly and welcoming. I had the chicken & leek pie which was beautifully presented & tasty, my husband had the huge burger which he will also be ordering tonight when we return with our friends. The Marton Arms is a place we will now visit regularly & would recommend for dining.

Location is excellent for walks. The bar area is lovely with the log fire and food menu adequate. Burger was excellent, my wife had the ceasar salad but found it odd that it came with anchovies when it wasnt stated on the menu. We stayed in room 1 which was £90 for the night including breakfast. We were dissapointed with the room as it was very cold and appeared unclean in places. There was scaffolding on the exterior of our window which didnt cause much of an issue but felt £90 for this room was high.

Lovely old pub, tastefully renovated. Good selection of real ales, excellent food, good accommodation. The staff are very friendly and helpful, incuding the comedy breakfast waitress, who kept bringing the wrong orders - much to the amusement of us and our fellow diners. The evening menu is a little on the expensive side, especially for steaks. However the quality, and quantity of the food served is excellent, as is the beautiful presentation. All food is sourced locally according to the menu. The B&B accommodation is well appointed and clean. The only drawback was the noise of people walking around on a hard wooden and creaky floor immediately above.
All in all, a recommended base to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of North West yorkshire.

Room Tip: Choose an upstairs room for uninterrupted sleep.

Kids boooked it for husbands birthday treat. Very friendly and helpful staff. The food was absolutely excellent - the choice at breakfast was really good. Dinner bit more expensive than you'd get elsewhere when you just read the menu but well worth it because it was very high quality, freshly prepared, really well presented and very plentiful. If you're hungry at dinner - try the burger! Best ceasar salad I've ever had and the smoked haddock and poached eggs for breakfast was to die for. Drinks weren't overpriced and although there was limited choice of real ales - we run a pub ourselves and understand you just can't offer everything out of season. Room was small but adequate, very warm and comfortable and overlooked the church. Didn't hear a sound in the night - floorboards a bit creaky but the place is 17 century - what do you expect!!! For rooms above a pub they really do try - really clean, toiletries and large warm fluffy towels, tea and coffee with biscuits - don't get that in some of the more famous chains now! The whole place was very warm and comfortable as it was pretty cold outside. Short walk into Ingleton and to the waterfalls walk and lovely farm shop not far away in opposite direction. I'd imagine it gets very busy in the summer and well deserved if it does.
