My family booked this hotel for 2 nights as we were going to the Wells Carnival and it was local. The hotel was very basic and staff unhelpful. There was no proper lounge/bar to socialise with family. The breakfast was greasy and very salty. On the second morning we had to go across the road for breakfast as the chef could not cope with the number of guests. We asked to have a coffee in the dining area and were told there was coffee in the room. We wanted to sit together for coffee! The hotel was clean and the shower was actually one of the best showers I have used. For a family hotel it was lacking greatly. There were only 2 high chairs and my 7 month old nephew had to sit with us for breakfast. There was no play area for the 7 year old. We will not be visiting this hotel again.

I booked this as part of a groupon deal so it included the entrance to the caves, round of crazy golf and a couple of other extras.
The hotel was clean and spacious and the kids thought it was fabulous.
It was a shame breakfast wasn't in the hotel itself, but served in the building about 5mins walk. This was fine if he weather was ok but on a Sunday morning in the pouring down rain with a 7 year old and a 3 year old it wasn't ideal.
All in all good value for money.

Poor hotel and very noisy! Paper thin walls and overpriced. Breakfast was also overpriced and hotel was not a good standard. Would not stay here again. Better off staying in a premier inn as in a very isolated spot. Rooms were scruffy and needed a refurbish

The hotel is very new, the rooms are very modern and comfortable, TV & DVD player with plenty of storage and a nice bathroom. Couple if things with the room, the heating wasn't brilliant it was either to hot or really cold, no happy medium. The second bed in the room is a sofa bed and was quite uncomfortable, yet I have never slept on a comfortable one being 6"2. There were no extra pillows available in the hotel due to it being fully booked and ask for a bath mat on arrival, all of us slipped at some point in the shower, the little one went over.

Bar area is nice, good little selection of draught, bottles, spirits and wine. The reception and cleaning staff were so friendly it was brilliant. The breakfast was good, you have to pay an extra £2 for the full English, but it was very nice. We had the carvery one night and it was very good too, the Irish chef was keeping the queue entertained and making sure you had everything you wanted.

All in all a lovely hotel and would happily stay here again. I maybe over critical of the room, but these are the issues we found, personal experience. Yet the hotel staff were overly helpful and if there was anything they could have done they would.....

Good hotel, great location for the attractions at Wookey Hole. The welcome and service were good and friendly. The room was easily large enough for our family of four and very clean and well kept. The kids loved the hotel and attractions. The witch was great !
We will stay again.
One thing, along with many other new hotels and buildings in the UK, its a decent but standard built hotel, no special architecture (OK there’s a witches hat tower on the roof but really...!) and no interior design to reflect the cave attractions ...I think in other countries they would make of available themes e.g. the bar could be cave themed, and more interesting interior decor etc. But this is more a general comment, the Captain Jacks restaurant has far more interesting decor and the hotel is a good place to stay for sure.

Room Tip: The family room was a good size. There was no pool or fitness centre so far as I am aware.

Stayed here quite spontaneously to visit the Wookey Caves the next day, and we weren't disappointed! We arrived quite late, about 9.30, but were welcomed with a smile but the receptionist. Went to our room which was clean and warm. All the things you'd expect really!
Breakfast was nice, we had a cooked breakfast which was lovely. It would be nice to have a choice of what you get, but was still nice. You can also help yourselves to the cereals, croissants, toast, breads, cheeses, yoghurts, jams and marmalades etc. Good value for money! Wasn't to busy either which was nice, but it was a Friday morning.
Service was good, we sat down and had our food in front of us within 10 minutes.
Checkout was nice and easy, again with a smile!
Couldn't have asked for more really!
