Words can't express our lovely 1 night stay at Highgate Cottage. It was the high point of a weekend in Somerset. We had booked the Days Inn but then found we had been allocated a 'smoking room' and so decided to find a B&B instead. Luckily, as fate would have it, we found Highgate Cottages and they had a vacancy. Keith & Sue were very welcoming and immediately offered us tea on the lawn which was delightful. We had a good night's sleep and then a charming breakfast with the breakfast room doors open onto the garden and sweet bird song. I can fully endorse the previous reviews and highly recommend anyone who is in the area or passing through to stay a night or more. The other reviewers have said what I would have wanted to say as well-- In a word, Perfect! If you are booking ahead get Keith & Sue to reserve you a table at the good food pub that is within walking distance as it gets fully booked in the evening very quickly.

Room Tip: Back room has a shower, front room a corner bath. Both lovely.

Your kind words are much appreciated. We also have a third room downstairs which was unavailable the night you stayed : it has a shower en suite. Hope to see you again soon.

We stayed at Highgate Cottage as a last minute weekend away and only booked the evening before our first nights stay. The owners, Keith & Sue, were extremely welcoming despite our late arrival on the Friday evening. The cottage itself is beautiful and has clearly been lovingly renovated with a great deal of personal care and attention. The rooms are very comfortable and offer all of the accessories and amenities that you could wish for. The cottage has fantastic grounds and gardens which the kids in particular enjoyed. Breakfast was excellent and set us up nicely for exploring North Somerset . The owners are extremely knowledgeable about the area and offered excellent advice on where to visit and where to eat, right down to advising which car park to head for in Wells!
This is without doubt the finest B&B that we have ever visited and will certainly return in the near future.

We stayed overnight, the hosts were lovely, very welcoming and nothing too much trouble. The b&b is beautiful! Absolutely immaculate, obviously very well cared for and loved. We will definitely stay again - passing though to Cornwall - perfect.

Recently I have stayed here and straight away you could tell how nice it was! The house and gardens are lovely and the people are very nice and welcoming. On arrival I was greeted in a very nice friendly environment. The rooms are lovely and modern. I probably had the best night sleep in the last year at this b&b! I was working locally and needed to leave early in the morning, despite the planned breakfast time they happily made breakfast 30 minutes early for us so I could leave to go to work on time. The b&b is amazing and I would definitely recommend.

Our hosts were most welcoming and have worked hard to refurbish this character building. Our room and en suite was spacious and the breakfast table overlooked a delighful garden. Our only regret is we didn't book for longer. It's definitely on our 'return to' list.
