We were a party of four staying for one night at the Goldalming Hotel. Our overall impression was it was welcoming and both clean and tidy. It also has a slightly contemporary quirkiness about it. We had a room at the front of the hotel which overlooked a main road, which although not too difficult for us, might, because of the traffic noise, prove a slight inconvenience to those
who are lighter sleepers. A very reasonable price for two, which included a full english breakfast, was provided by attentive staff. Having stayed here we would have no hesistation in recommending the hotel to friends and family.

Having stayed at the hotel on many occasions, our company had been rather happy with it, we had spent hundreds of pounds on rooms over many months. Then on 1 week a change to the rooms needed to be made yet we were still charged for the whole week for all of the rooms that were booked. We tried to speak to the hotel to sort it out amicably and get a partial refund, but the way the staff spoke to us was absolutley unbelievable!! SO RUDE, therefore no longer do we stay at this hotel and they have lost hundreds of pounds of business from us. This hotel is definatley not about customer satisfaction!! I just thought that other guests needed to be aware of this. Also soom of the rooms are not up to standard of the others so i'd be wary which room you are given.

There are always 2 sides to a story and as you mention you stayed with us for quite a few months so it is strange you only thought to mention your thoughts after so long.

Our cancellation is very clear so you can have no complaints.

There is no mention of the countless rudeness shown by your colleagues and the numerous cancellations and no-shows that we gave you credit for.

We booked this hotel as it was round the corner from our friends we were visiting for the weekend. On arrival at around 9pm, we were annoyed and stunned that reception had no record of our reservation despite booking it through THEIR OWN website the day before! After 2 phone calls to the owner, the polite and apologetic gentleman at reception, managed to sort the problem out and found us the room we had booked. When I asked whether this had happened before, he gave the impression it had & reading these reviews, I see it has numerous times. It is really not acceptable to let people book online, allow them to arrive at the hotel, only to tell them there is no room for them. Even though this was sorted out eventually, it should not have been allowed to happen in the first place. There is clearly a communication problem between the owner and the management of the hotel.

We were allocated room 15 above the breakfast/reception area and it was noisy - from the water pipes, voices in the room next door, and downstairs. In the morning people having breakfast woke us even though they weren't excessively loud. All in all, not very restful.

Room Tip: To ensure your room is definitely booked, ring up a few days before.

It is a fair comment, our manager had not been provided with your booking and had to phone to check. Sometimes this happens when a person books late and we will have to improve our communication of late bookings.

I can see this has caused you some discomfort and disappointment and I can only apologise for our lapse in communication of your booking.

We stopped over for 1 night whilst visiting relatives. We stayed here despite some negative reviews and to be honest it wasn't to bad at all. It is not 5 star luxury but then nor is the price. The bed was comfy (could have done with another pillow) the en-suite shower room was clean (not spotless). Over all it was it was a pleasant non expensive stay.

Looked a lot better on the website than in real life. The room we were given had not been refurbished, was old fashioned with a very thin duvet, old fashioned covers and only 1 pilow! The en suite was small with a horrible pedistal mat in front of the toilet! (I mean who has those now a days!) and pale pink towels! The room /place generally did not have a nice feel about it!

Well actually this guest checked-in early afternoon and late evening he decided he had to go home and wanted his money back. It was too late to rent the room and my cleaners had left a long time ago and also he had rented the room already for quite a long time.

Because the gentleman could not get his money back he has given us a'bad' review to get his own back.

Didn't understand the comment about pedestal towel mats.
