“A lovely farm B&B”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 July 2013

This is just the B&B we needed after arriving in England and managing the task of adjusting to the 8 hour time difference – quiet and relaxing. Having said that, we were greeted by a very talkative and funny goose, who came charging up to the car when we arrived, (although he wanted nothing to do with us when we exited the car). We were also greeted by two very friendly dogs and very welcoming B&B owners. At our request, we had a lovely walk around the farm with the dogs, had the chance to feed their lamb, and enjoyed the very comical face of the pig.

The B&B is located about an hour from Heathrow; and a 10 minute drive from the Guildford train station, where we could catch a train into London for the day. And after a long and exhausting day in London, we were able to enjoy the relaxing solitude of the countryside in the evening. There was also an old pub (The Dog and Pheasant pub), which we could walk to from the B&B – about a mile away – a beautiful walk past fields and quaint old farm homes in the area.

The B&B was clean, comfortable, and the breakfast was enough to fill us up for many hours. I cannot say enough nice things about Sukey and her husband (whose name I am forgetting), and their hospitality. It was perfect for us, as we much prefer the English countryside to staying in the midst of a big city, such as London – yet it is easy enough to get into London for a day. Hoping to return some day.

My partner and I were looking for a one night stay in a b and b as we had a few things planned in the area over the weekend. We came across Heath Hall Farm online and thought it looked great. The b and b was fully booked, which turned out to be even better as we were told about the Shepherd's Huts, which we did indeed stay in.

Although everything had looked lovely online, our actual stay far exceeded our expectations. The hosts were so friendly and helpful, and were more than happy to indulge my inner 10 year old, who wanted to stroke every animal in sight! And there were plenty - we started by meeting Bill and Ben the pigs, followed by two 10 week old piglets; an alpaca; chickens; ducks; geese; and two gorgeous dogs, whose company we very much enjoyed throughout the evening.

The facilities were clean, romantic and picturesque and we had everything we needed to enjoy a private BBQ whilst overlooking the stunning countryside. Breakfast the following morning included fresh eggs in the stunning main house.

We enjoyed our trip so much that we have decided to return with our families the night before our wedding next year.

Thank you, Sukey and Anthony (and all the animals!), for making our weekend perfect.

We did the long walk suggested by the Three Horseshoes and were looking for a place to shower before eating at the pub. The smashing hosts at Heath Hall Farm said we could use theirs for a small fee to cover expenses. The shower was great (the actual shower, not the, "I need a shower!") and had good water pressure, fluffy towels, soap and shampoo. We can't thank them enough! Also, the place looked beautiful and we expect it'd be a splendid place to stay.

It isn't often that we are asked for "just a bathroom"and I felt quite embarrassed asking for a small fee, but as the Shepherds Hut had no occupants, why not use the bathroom hut? A lovely couple arrived in the early morning, left their car with us and set off on their walk with the happy idea that they would be able to shower and brush up at the end of their walk ready for a slap up lunch at the Shoes in Thursley. It really worked well and it was a pleasure to have Mat and Tracey here. They should come again for a proper stay!

We spent our Christmas in the Shepherds hut and it was the best, most romantic Christmas ever! The hut is very well equipped and very warm and cozy, the log burner was a real treat. The hot tub was amazing and the bathroom was great, everything was very clean.

Anthony and Sukey were wonderfully welcoming and we knew they were there and happy to help with anything we wanted but at the same time they didn’t disturb us at all.

We would recommend this completely for a romantic getaway with a difference.

We went to godalming for a wedding and stayed in the shepherd hut. Anthony and Suky were fantastic hosts. Sukey dropped a load of wedding guests to the wedding because there were no taxi services near by. I had a right old natter with Anthony about his sunning antique bently.

They also let us take their two boisterous dogs on our walk. "Don't worry if they go missing" said Sukey. "They'll find their way back".

The shepherds hut itself was lovely and cosy and the hot tub was superb. Can't wait to go back.

My husband, baby and I stayed at Heath Hall farm over the bank holiday. Sukey and Anthony gave us a warm welcome and looked after us all very well during our stay. They didn't mind we had a 15 month old with us and made it really easy for us to look after him there. Our son loved the ducks, chickens and dogs.

The room we had was immaculate and had some lovely touches, fresh sweet peas, filtered water, twinings tea bags, porcelain cups from
Heals, nice shower gel, fresh cotton bedding and feather duvet, fluffy towels heated on the aga. The room was replenished rather like a hotel rather than a b&b! The breakfast was scrummy, especially the fresh eggs from the garden!
Sukey and Anthony are charming hosts and their home is beautiful, welcoming with lots of beautiful art work and objects to look at. The guests have access to a cute sitting room and lovely court yard area which was handy for us once the little one was asleep and our baby monitor reached easily. Again, Sukey checked we has everything we needed for the little one and we heard anthony even dropped one couple to the local pub for dinner. Above and beyond the call of duty! We would love to go back when our son is older and do some local walks, and stay in the romantic looking shepherds hut! We highly recommend Heath hall and wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you Sukey and Anthony

Room Tip: The family room was a great size for the 3 of us, but I bet you could sleep 4.
