Had a wonderful stay even though the weather was rubbish.
The children loved the toys, books and games console.
Completely fell in love with the alpacas.
Catherine provided everything we needed and more. The welcome pack was so much more than we expected, eggs were best ive had, even got some to take home.
Has a mother of 4 I cant thank you enough for all the little extras that made our break stress free.
Will definately be recommending.
Manor Farm Cottage is a beautiful home. The moment we saw it we were in love and the moment we stepped through the door we were in heaven. It is a historical building in great condition surrounded by farmland. It is lovingly remodeled inside to be very comfortable. It is stocked with all you could possibly want. The owner welcomed us. She lives next door and left us to our own devices unless we wanted something from her. There are alpacas, sheep, geese, chickens in the field beyond the garden. You should stay here! We had an amazing stay. Thank you Catherine!
We have just spent our 3rd weekend in 3 years and had another perfect weekend.
The cottage continues to impress every single time and the standards never slip from brilliant. The welcome pack is perfect for breakfasts and my daughters love the extra treats that are added too.
We are in the process of trying to book a slightly longer stay for the next visit as 2 nights are just not long enough to do this place justice!
This is the second time we have stayed here and we remember why we wanted to come back! Firstly, the warm welcome from the owners, who made sure we were happy and settled. Secondly, the treats left for the kids, and the basic foodstuffs for us, helped out enormously when we first arrived, including the fresh farm eggs from the chickens who roam around the field outside, along with Alpacas and sheep! There is a great feel about this place. It is quite spacious with a lovely country kitchen and a comfortable lounge area with DVDs and toys and games for younger children. The 2 bedrooms are light and spacious, with one double room and a twin room with more than enough room for a travel cot etc if needed. There is everything you need to have a comfortable stay. The outside even has a barbecue, and patio area, as well as a lawn area with views across the field. All fenced and gated to keep little ones safe. There is a great pub just down the lane (The George) which does its own selection of pie dishes which are great. A lovely touch was all that you might need in a bathroom, was already here too. WiFi kept our older children happy whilst my wife and myself relaxed and chatted. There is lots to do in this area especially if you like "last of the summer wine". Holmfirth is close by, as is The Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Cannon Hall is well worth a visit too. We will definitely be back!
This was our first family holiday since the arrival of our granddaughter earlier this year and we simply couldn't have chosen a more perfect place to spend a week all together.
Manor Farm Cottage is, and all its guests are, lovingly cared for by Catherine and Charles who have catered for absolutely every need. The so called 'welcome pack' is rather almost a week's shopping! We were amazed at its generosity and, no sooner had we arrived than Catherine presented us with newly laid eggs and freshly picked strawberries too!
We'd intended to do and see lots of different things during our stay but the cottage, its garden and the animals in the adjoining field were all so inviting that we spent most of our time happily sitting on the patio when it was sunny or chatting around the dining table when the weather wasn't so kind.
We can't sing its praises highly enough and have every intention of returning to the cottage to experience some of the many attractions in the beautiful countryside around (though we rather think we might just chill out at Manor Farm Cottage again).
Thank you for a lovely few days Catherine and Charles, you are the perfect host and hostess.
We stayed at Manor Farm Cottage over the May bank holiday w/e but 3 nights wasn't long enough! I do not normally go for old cottages, I like my clean and modern, however I was gobsmacked at how much I loved Manor Farm! The cottage was absolutely immaculate, every room was spotless and beautifully decorated, loved the farmhouse kitchen! There is nothing I can say about the welcome pack that hasn't been said before-unbelievable! The alpaca's were a source of entertainment for our kids! The George pub is a two minute walk away where we ate on the first night and can highly recommend if you are looking for a quick dinner of pie, peas and gravy, even the kids loved their pies! A short 20ish minute walk away is Yummy Yorkshire where we ate breakfast, brilliant! We will definitely be returning if Catherine will have us, the boys made rather a lot of noise playing with the cricket set in the garden!
