“A perfect day out!”
Reviewed 3 July 2014

Our visit to Holmfirth Vineyard was bought for a fathers Day gift and it proved to be a fabulous present!
The vineyard covers 7 acres and you are given a very friendly and knowledgable tour of the vines and the facilities. It was interesting to see how the wine is made and bottled and you are then given a chance to try the white, rose and red made by the team.
Prior to our tour we enjoyed a hot cooked brunch served in the fantastc modern restaurant with stunning views.
This was a superb day out and the whole experience from the food, the facilities and the tour were all first class!

“Who would have thought it?”
Reviewed 27 June 2014

I had a gift package for vineyard tour and afternoon tea. We arrived in plenty of time and parked the car near the apartments, not knowing that the main car park was at the top.( clearer signage please!). We walked up to the cafe/ reception through the vineyard and checked in. At the appointed hour our tour guide came and introduced himself. He took us to a dome on the hillside- put up for le Tour de France race next week, and told us about the inspired couple who had set up the vineyard. The talk was fascinating and he answered all our questions. We were then to see the vines and then to the processing plant where the wine is made. Again another interesting explanation- he was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic, especially after starting his career in a wine bar in Manchester!! We then got to sample three wines- two rose and a white. Then it was afternoon tea in the cafe with a glass of prosecco to start us off. Finger sandwiches of salmon, egg, cucumber and cheese, followed by scones with strawberries and cream, and two slices of cake washed down with either coffee or tea. We enjoyed it very much and wish it a very good harvest.

“Really enjoyed our visit and would love to visit again.”
Reviewed 23 June 2014

My daughter bought me the vineyard visit as a mother’s day gift. We booked for breakfast and the vineyard tour. We had breakfast first and it was excellent, well presented and tasted great, served with a bucks fizz each. The tour takes about an hour and it is informative and good fun, our guide Dean looked as though he enjoyed his job and made the tour fun and interesting. I would visit again for lunch or breakfast and would also be happy to stay in the accommodation as it looked fantastic.

“Disappointing”
Reviewed 20 June 2014

Walked straight into the cafe despite it being signed as the shop. The shop consisted of a tiny foyer next to the loos where there didn't appear to be anything much on sale.We were asked several times by by several people if they could help us, two appeared to be other customers as they were in their own clothes and had no id.
Had to ask about the products behind the bar as no info to read and the young (very pleasant) staff had no idea. There was a bottle of white and a bottle of rose which they only new by name, had no idea about the type of grapes grown as they said they hadn't been on the tour.Had a glass each of their wine expensive and not terribly nice wine and left. Vines were overgrown with weeds and unkempt. Felt like a tourist trap. Disappointing.

“Surprisingly very good”

Holmfirth and Vineyard - not two words that you would normally associate. Used a Living Social voucher for brunch, tour and tasting. In a superb setting, lovely service, good cooked breakfast preceded by a Buck's Fizz, entertaining tour and tasting. Recommended.
