Having just spent two nights at Sunnybank Guesthouse for the second time in the last couple of years I can safely say our original opinion that it is a great B&B has not only been confirmed but actually enhanced. Mike and Sue were outstanding hosts - extremely welcoming and easy to get on with. Their breakfasts were delicious, setting us up perfectly for a day out in the beautiful surrounding area. The room was spacious and clean. We are spending a couple of days there again next year - need I say more ?

We had a fabulous time at Sunnybank. The breakfast was first class and the room beautifully appointed with period touches.
Mike and Sue are so attentive. I thoroughly recommend this B&B. We will certainly be returning.

This is a lovely guest house close to all the amenities of Holmfirth. Though its a bit of a steep walk to the property along with a steep driveway to boot - so probably not best for those with mobility issues. We had a great welcome from Mike and Sue, the cooked breakfasts were wonderful and our room was clean and warm. What more could you ask for! Will certainly stay again.

Sunnybank is a delightful and relaxing place to stay. Suituated next to a church on a quiet lane leading out of Holmfirth it is beautifully located looking out over the valley onto the fields opposite. The old house is lovely retaining many of it's original features but with environmental upgrades making it more eco friendly. I splashed out (only an extra £50 for the two nights) on the valley view suite which provided lovely views over the valley - even from the roll top bath in the en suite marble bath room.
The dining room and guest lounge were equally delightful and the breakfast first class. Mike and Sue the managers were friendly, welcoming and helpful at all times. The only downside to my visit was that I was there on business so didn't get to wnjoy the house or the wonderful surroundings as much as I would have liked.

In summary Sunnybank is a lovely house run by lovely people and I will definitely be staying there again.

After a very warm welcome from Mike and Sue we settled into our lodge room. It was spotless and beautifully presented. The proucts provided within our room were of excellent quality with extra touches provided FOC. The kingsize bed was very comfortable. The breakfast menu is varied and beautifully cooked - Two gentlemen on business from the USA and another couple visiting at the same time all agreed. The main house is charming with a lovely guest lounge where you can play the piano, read books (supplied) and games (supplied). We stayed at Holmfirth as we have started to become regular visitors to the Holmfirth Picturedrome. It was lashing down with rain on the Saturday and our hosts offered to run us into town in their own vehicle - you cannot be more accommodating than that! Our stay was an absolute delight and we will be returning to sample the hospitality of Sunny Bank again.

Tucked away off the main roads, Sunnybank is not easily found but absolutely worth it. The house is truly wonderful with most of the original features. A warm welcome from Mike encourages you to feel at ease from the moment you arrive and he will provide all the local information you require to enjoy your stay. The room was comfortable and warm with a sumptuous bed to rest your weary tired body after a hard day. The breakfast is freshly prepared and a real treat to begin your day served by the attentive Sue in the beautifully furnished dining room. I would have little hesitation in returning to this wonderful establishment in the future and would commend it highly to anyone considering a trip in to this part of the country.
