Picked Ebblesway off the web to use as a base for our house hunting trip in Wiltshire, what a find, its a treasure. Great setting very quiet and peaceful, spotless, well fitted out, all mods cons in a rustic rural setting. The welcome pack alone will keep you going for the first few days. Peter, the owner, could not have been more helpful.
Can't praise Ebblesway highly enough.

Ebblesway Courtyard offers two self catering apartments. The luxury one, The Hayloft, is typically booked quite some time in advance, which was also the case when we wanted to stay – we therefore had to choose the The Stables.

The stables may not have a jacuzzi, and I must admit that I did miss at least a bath (it is shower only), but it has anything else you will need for a few days off. There is a small kitchen with a combi oven, hob, washing machine (with dryer function), and obviously a kettle and a toaster. The dining room also has a small tv with a Freeview box and a couple of nice chais for hanging out in front of the telly.

The bed is huge and very comfortable, and there is ample space in the bedroom and cupboard. Iron and board as well as a drying rack can also be found.

Gail and Peter Smalley make sure to make you feel welcome – starting off with a warm welcome on arrival and a starter pack ensuring breakfast for the first couple of days. If you need anything, you can give them a call and they will help you as good as they can.

One thing that I actually found quite nice but that others may dislike is the fact that there is absolutely no GSM coverage here. If you really need to make a call, there is a payphone and you can freely use wireless internet and make a VoIP call.

Apart from a couple of pubs (serving reasonble food) and a small village shop, there is nothing within walking distance. If you are fit, you can rent bicycles and get to your destinations, including nearby Salisbury, but this is mostly a place for people with cars. There is ample parking and it is a good base for exploring Wiltshire and neighbouring counties.

All your shopping needs can easily be fulfilled in nearby Salisbury, easily reached by car.

  • Liked — Great service and atmosphere in nice, quiet area.
  • Disliked — I really did miss a bath rather than a shower.

If you are looking for a relaxing retreat in excellent surroundings you won't be disappointed. EC is self catering at its highest standard. Every small detail has been thought of. We have been three times in the last 2 years and are already planning our fourth trip. Gets booked up soon though so don't delay! You won't be disappointed...

For anybody who does not mind making their own breakfast this is a wonderful alternative to B&B and hotels: very clean, in a converted stable, quiet, extremely modern fittings and kitchen, spacious room with extra-wide bed, pleasant hosts, nice garden for guests to use.
We enjoyed this place very much, it was good value for money, much better than some B&Bs we encountered on our trip through England.
