“TOP NOTCH B+B”
Reviewed 23 June 2010

Words cannot describe how much we absolutely loved this B+B. It is set in the beautiful countryside yet close enough to the town if we wanted to go in for shopping or a drink at one of the pubs. Bernie and Robert exemplify what a host/hostess should be. The rooms were spacious, cozy and clean. The best part was each room had its own bathroom which was a thumbs up for us. The breakfast was delicious and it was nice that we could eat later if we wanted to sleep in. I highly recommend Clearwater House and will surely be returning soon!!!

Fabulous location at the foot of the Sperrins, great breakfast served at any time and legedary hospitality. Based out in the country but only 5 minutes to the town (lifts graciously given for free by Bernie), this was our second visit to Bernie and Robert's B&B and we couldn't recommend it highly enough. Hope to be back again next year.

Stayed here for 1 night in March as we were attending a wedding near-by. The b & b is lovely, the rooms are spacious and clean, and the surroundings are so quiet that you are gauranteed a pleasant night's sleep- Yet it is only a few minutes drive from the town which has lots of pubs and restaurants.
The b&b owners Bernie and Robert are extremely welcoming and friendly and happy to offer any help or information required. I even forgot my jacket which Bernie has kindly offered to post to me. The breakfast is very generous and a delicious full Irish.
I would highly recommend staying here to anyone, whether you are after a quiet get away or a wee break close to amenities of a town.

Hi there,

Sorry for the delay in the response but thank you for your review. We are glad that you enjoyed our location just as much as we do. We know just how important it is to be close to all the main amenities of a town but have a good nights sleep at the end of a long day or before a long day ahead.

Hope you see you soon.

I recently stayed at Clearwater B&B and had an excellent stay. Due to family circumstances myself and my parents had to arrange a last minute trip to Ireland and were extremely lucky to find the Clearwater via the internet. My mum phoned in the morning and we were booked in for 3 nights. Bernie and Robert (the owners) were very helpful in giving directions and we found it no problem.
It has excellent facillities and the rooms are very large, comfortable and extremely clean. Robert and Bernie very excellent hosts and looked after us very well, very nice people. They are very flexible with breakfast times (delicious breakfasts) and couldnt do enough to make our stay as enjoyable as possible.
It is ideally situated in a beautiful part of the country.
All in all it was a real home from home and we will certainly be back. I would recommend this bed and breakfast to everyone.
Thank you Bernie and Robert!

Recently stayed with Robert and Bernie in Clearwater House B&B for 3 nights over the halloween weekend while attending the Ulster Irish Dancing championships in Magherfelt. We have stayed in many different bed and breakfasts over the years and can honestly say this is one of the best if not the best, very spacious rooms, brilliant shower not to mention both Robert and Bernie were excellent hosts and could not have been more accommodating, from serving a late breakfast on days we did not have an early start, to serving a very early breakfast. Bernie kindly left us into town for a lovely evening and collected us so that we could enjoy a few glasses of wine with dinner, the girls were given access to the house computer so that they could keep in touch with friends. Bernie showed so much interest in my daughters competions and we are happy to say we brought home some Ulster medals and a cup - must have been the great breakfast - we look forward to staying in Clearwater House again next time round.

Hello, my name is Shane, I just thought i`d leave a few comments about a fantastic B&B that i stayed in last weekend, CLEARWATER HOUSE, just a couple of miles outside Magherafelt, co Derry. I`ve stayed in quite a few B&Bs as i travel quite a lot, but i must say that they don't come any better than clearwater. You will find a very warm welcome from your fantastic hosts, Robert & Bernie Brown, who genuinely made me feel like one of the family during my 2 night stay. Set in beautiful surroundings just at the foot of the Sperrin mountains, Clearwater is certainly worth a visit. I found the room to be of excellent standard with en suite bathroom and shower, TV, tea making facilities and one of the most comfortable beds i`ve ever slept in. With Ronan Valley golf course just down the road, and numerous activities like Fishing, Walking & Horse Riding, you wont be short of things to do. The food is absolutely gorgeous, Bernie & Robert certainly know how to cook an Ulster fry, delicious. With great wheelchair & parking access you have everything in place for a wonderful stay at clearwater house, im already lookin forward to my next stay in Magherafelt. Thanks.
