We stayed in Sea View for a week in late June. We have stayed in many cottages in Scotland and other places, but this is definitely one of the best. A superb location - we saw seals swimming in the surf from the garden. The graveyard next door and the mediaeval palace across the road adds to the atmosphere. The cottage is very close to the Brough where you can see lots of birds, including puffins. There are also many lovely coastal and inland walks. Although the village is tiny, there is an excellent post office and shop 2 minutes walk away and a highly rated tea room about 10 mins walk. There is also a hotel within 5 mins drive that does homely meals and also serves good real ale.
The cottage itself is spacious, comfortable and well furnished. The kitchen/diner looks out onto the garden with a lovely view of the sea and the Brough. Lovely leather sofas to flop into with a large glass of whisky after long walks We cooked a lot during our stay and the kitchen is very well equipped for this. Also lots of well chosen books and DVDs if the weather is bad!
We can't wait to go back.
