En route to Rum this seemed to be an ideal place to both stay and eat. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, with good showers and a large kitchen and sitting room shared between just two rooms. The owner's kitchen overlooks the entrance and he enthusiatically spotted us getting our cases out and helped us settle in, whilst presumably cooking some of his excellent fish dishes. Being able to pop downstairs for dinner made this more than a B&B, and watching fishing vessels and ferries come into harbour just added to the experience. If you like skate-wings this is the place to have them

Lovely two night stay in this clean and friendly B&B. Family trip so we had the rooms to ourselves. Played cards in the sitting room and enjoyed tea and coffee (provided). Bedrooms and bathrooms spotless and comfortable. THEN there's breakfast! Whether you go for the full Scottish (Stornoway black pudding, mmm) or the home smoked salmon and eggs you are in for a treat. The owner is. out-going and friendly. Can't recommend highly enough.

Booked here based on positive reviews. They are all accurate, the excellent restaurant has two rooms upstairs that are clean and well appointed. The layout is ideal for two couples but we had one to ourselves so perfect.
We went up to mallaig by train last Saturday from Glasgow, fantastic journey. On Sunday went across to the old forge for lunch, great way to spend Sunday.
Weather was also fantastic so had a great weekend.

Situated above its own restaurant, the rooms are clean, modern and comfortable with a great view out over the busy harbour front. There is a shared kitchen area if you need it with a fridge etc to store any supplies. Nice shower in a modern bathroom. Very reasonably priced for a stay here and worth it for the view and delicious breakfast in the restaurant below, with a table overlooking the harbour.

Stayed overnight after a train trip on the West Highland Line. The Cornerstone is just a couple of minutes from the station and above an excellent restaurant where we had dinner. The room was very comfortable with an lovely modern shower room . The view over the harbour is endlessly entertaining as the ferries and fishing boats come and go.
It was nice to have a small sitting room where we could enjoy a cup of tea and ,later, a glass of wine.
We were made to feel very welcome.
Breakfast was super - fresh Scottish raspberries and strawberries with our cereal, orange juice, coffee and toast and a choice of a full cooked breakfast or scrambled egg with local ( from just across the road) smoked salmon. Some of the best smoked salmon I have tasted.
