Great location, and fantastic views from both our room and the restaurant! Room was lovely and very comfortable. Could not fault the good served in the restaurant both at dinner and breakfast! Staff very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this hotel!

We stayed at the West Highland Hotel after taking the West Highland Line from Glasgow. The hotel was a fantastic find - welcoming, amazingly located, stunning views and bike friendly. Rooms comfortable with great showers.

The real delight was the food - both evening meal and breakfast were superlative - recommend the haggis!

Top notch - we'll be back!

Great find for last minute decision to travel to Mallaig with the family for short break. Ideal location for all sight-seeing, and views from Room 10 were superb...the en-suite bathroom was also a decent size and the shower was great. Pamela and staff very professional, polite and very accommodating. We booked a family room for 3 but were able to put in extra camp bed for 4th guest which saved booking a second room.....we ate out so didn't use the restaurant in the hotel, but the breakfast was excellent also and good start for the days activities..thank you to all and will come back again.....

We have stayed here several times now usually around the beginning of April as a few days 'break'. This hotel continues to improve in every aspect. The staff are excellent, the food is delicious coming from an extensive menu and the accommodation is much better due to some much needed refurbishment. Firstly the staff, whether on Reception or in the Dinning Hall, all very professional and happy to help when needed. The rooms are spacious if on the first floor, some higher up do not have this. The views are spectacular so ask for a sea view. In the restaurant the menu caters for all tastes and if you like sea food, bearing in mind the location you will not be disappointed, however, watch out for the supplements especially on a sirloin steak. The wine list was first class as was the bar. It was so relaxing to sit by the fire and catch up on some reading and plan the next day's trip. There is plenty to see and do nearby and a trip on the ferry to Skye is a must. We liked walking around Arisaig and spent some car journey travelling to Ardnamurcan . We look forward to returning next year.

Room Tip: Room on the first floor with island view.

We frequently flit between our home in South Wales and our other home in the Western Isles. This time we decided to use a different route which was why we came to Mallaig. We found the hotel very easily and the receptionist was friendly and helpful - an excellent start! The public rooms were spacious and we enjoyed an early drink looking out over the bay. The hotel is a bit tired and our room was a little small but that didn't distract from its charm. Dinner was excellent as was breakfast. Every member of staff that we met seemed happy and friendly so all in all that's why we've already booked a room for our return in May.
