We drove by and were instantly drawn to the cute patio playing blues and jazz. The perfect spot to stop on a hot relaxing Sunday afternoon. We showed up just before closing time and the owner was more than gracious and allowed us to stay, we enjoyed a pint and a panini on the patio. It was a perfect spot to spend our afternoon.

To get away from the "highway food", we drove into the town of Perth Andover looking for another restaurant advertised and found this one. What a find! We sat outside on the patio so we could enjoy the river view. This is a husband/wife operation, husband, Charlie, is the chef and wife/didn't catch her name, serves. The menu has a wonderful selection of mouthwatering dishes, it was hard to decide what to have. Two of us had the Red Wine braised Beef Short Ribs with Grilled Vegetables. The beef and sauce was very flavorful, but not salty, the beef itself just melted in your mouth and the vegetables were grilled to a tender-crisp with a touch of butter and herbs. A soup was included and it was superb. A Thai broth with spinach, rice noodles, tofu and herbs and spices, again, not salty, just delicious. Two others had a Shrimp/scallop burger on a Portabello cap topped with Brie and something else, can't remember. This was presented on a bed of Chef's salad with house dressing. My friends raved about their meal as well. Charlie came out to ask how everything was and he and his wife were very friendly and sociable, chatting with us for quite a while, answering all our questions about them, the food, the town, etc. This was definitely the highlight of our long journey home. If you are ever driving through New Brunswick between Edmundston and Frederiction, save this place for a meal.
One thing I should mention is that it is only open until 4:00pm except Fridays, when it is open until 8:00pm. BUT if you call and have at least four in your party, they will stay open for you.

We came upon this place by accident when on a drive looking for Sunday Brunch. The menu has a wonderful selection of items, and we weren't disappointed. My wife ordered the omlette (delicious!), my father-in-low ordered the Club Sandwich served on a toasted croissant (beautifully presented), and I ordered the scrambled eggs with smoked salmon (just superb). Be prepared to wait a bit for your order since -- at least in our case -- one person in the open kitchen handled the orders on a table-by-table basis. That said, it was _definitely_ worth the wait. We'll be back.
P.S. I understand the restaurant concentrates mainly on breakfast and lunch, they are not open 7-days a week (_possibly_ closed on Mondays & Tuesdays) and _may_ only be open for dinner on a couple of evenings a week. I understand this given the small local (but loyal) group of local fans and the fact that. If you are planning a special trip to check it out, it would be good to call ahead. It's worth it.
