We stayed at the Inn Labour Day Weekend. I loved the room. Very clean and bed was comfy.
Couldn't find a phone in room, and noticed mold on ceiling in bathroom. Continental B'fst wasn't great. For the price expected a little more but overall loved the pool/spa area, and the staff was very friendly.

Room Tip: If you have children you might want to try the renaissance room it has a small room to the side with...

The Castle Inn is a quaint inn just above the town of Perth-Andover. Very quiet with lovely clean rooms. There is a really nice swimming pool which our daughter enjoyed. We did not get a chance to eat dinner at the hotel as the restaurant was closed. One might want to check ahead if hoping to eat at the hotel. We ate at this great local fast food cafe and were happy with this. Breakfast was adequate. Fresh fruit was a nice touch.

We stayed at The Castle while in the area visiting friends and found the location very good in terms of its proximity to the highway. The tiny town of Perth-Andover is exactly that, tiny. However everyone we encountered was friendly and cheerful. We stayed two nights in the Glamis room which was clean and tidy but strangely decorated. Considering the Inn only has 11 rooms I assumed the rooms would be in excellent condition, however our bed was horrible. It was old and worn out and it was much like a hammock in terms of support. I found myself waking up tired & sore each morning.

The light breakfast provided was truly lack-luster. Both mornings there was a lack of basic supplies like napkins, bowls and spoon at the tiny self-serve breakfast counter. Due to this area not being monitored, it was not particularly tidy.

Though friendly, I thought it odd that my credit card was charged the moment we checked in, rather than the number being held and charged when checked out. As well, my sister telephoned the inn around 10pm and because the main desk is not attended to regularly, she could not get through to my room. The phone call was actually call-forwarded & answered by someone from the Inn at their home who told them they did not have the ability to contact me in my room.

All in all, though this is a Diamond Rated Inn, it does not meet that caliber in my opinion. It is really the only place to stay in Perth-Andover, so we will probably return the next time we visit, but we will try for a different room & know what to expect.

We stayed here twice within the space of a week, on our way to and from Montreal. The building is charming and the room we had was large and comfortable. The staff are welcoming and helpful. We were there in the winter and it was very picturesque, although one night there was a heavy snow fall and we had to wait for a snow plough to get us out - but it didn't take too long!. For travellers it has the benefit of having a restaurant in the building, so once you get there you can relax. There is also an indoor pool and spa.

This place had very nice rooms, large, spacious, and clean. The pool area was spectacular with waterslides, steam room, jacuzzi, very nice.
The only bad thing was the food was 5 star priced and only 1 star good. Everything was cold, not great choices, many shortcuts were taken. Reading reviews of the place I expected the food to be the best part, but was terribly disappointed. Maybe it was just an off day for the chef. I would definitely stay here again but wouldn't eat.
Great service and hospitality though.

We spent three days here recently for a family reunion and booked 5 rooms - all different, all special in their own way. It is a wonderful spot to stop and recharge. The Inn itself is gorgeous and the staff are extremely accomodating. The chef creates irresistable dishes. The property is picturesque, unique and full of nice surprises. You couldn't find a nicer escape destination! You will feel most welcome here and definitely not disappointed!!

Room Tip: Being an old home, the sound proofing is not great, so you can hear people in the lobby in some of t...

We were on our way back from our Newfoundland trip to Toronto and would like to find a place for dinner on the way and The Castle Inn popped up in our GPS. We followed the direction and finally reached there (as it was quite hidden and away from everything) and found a stunning view in front of us. We were so impressed by the outlook of the castle that we took some pictures and quickly went in for dinner. Once inside, the Owner was kind enough to give us a tour of his facilities and we were all very impressed with his up-keeping of the Castle as well as the elegant traditional furnishing for the interior of the rooms. The property has an indoor swimming pool with slide and sauna, etc. which are very attractive to us weary travelers after a full-day's driving.

Food was great at the restaurant and during dinner we decided to stay 1 night and pamper ourselves. Our 4 outgrown kids had some fun at the indoor pool but it was too late for us grownups to enjoy the sauna. Besides, we had to be on the road early next morning. Oh, the Owner was kind enough to arrange for some fruits and muffins at the breakfast area for us to enjoy in the early hours.

Our rooms were one floor up at the back with a little garden in front, beautiful and comfortable and the 2 big kids had a small attic with bunk beds to themselves.

The only 2 drawbacks were : (1) there were lots of mosquitoes both inside and out, especially it was raining heavily that night. (2) The toilet flush in our room started to malfunction at night's end and eventually we had to make use of the lobby toilet in the morning, pretty inconvenient.

Price wise, it was quite expensive for the dinner and our stay but for good quality service.
