“Great overnight stay and a Gluten Free menu”
Reviewed 9 September 2013

My husband and I went to the Ash Grove Inn on September 6th to celebrate our anniversary. We rented one of their new luxury suites. It is a motel setting but the suites are located in their own strip and are very quite. The room was big and had a sitting area, table, chairs, mini fridge, microwave, double sided gas fireplace, 2 person jacuzzi tub, flatscreen tv, dvd player hook up and queen size bed. We were on the end end unit and the window from our bed was facing the lake across the street.
Outside front of the room, there was a small bistro table and two chairs but it was to cool outside for us to sit out.
We included in our package our dinner and breakfast. The food was fabulous. You could order anything off the menu for both meals and what was even more wonderful for me, they had a full Gluten free menu, which included sandwhiches, wraps, pasta and even dessert. I would go back even just for the food.
Our server at dinner was friendly and kind and at the end of the meal, she packaged up desserts for us and our tea so we could bring it back to the room. Our breakfast server was not overly friendly or accommodating but at this point, we enjoyed our stay so much it didn't matter.
I would really recommend if you are in the Barry's Bay area to check out this great little place.

Room Tip: As for the meal package. For an extra $80 we had two amazing meals with no limitations. Also, if y...

New luxury rooms are few and far between around Barry's Bay but Ash Grove's new luxury rooms are awesome. Not on the lake but just across the highway from the lake. Could easily launch a kayak or canoe from their dock on the lacke directly across from the hotel or from the public beach 2 minutes walk. Another minute walk brings you to the public tennis courts.

Had 2 brkfst and 1 dinner and both were very good.

Coffee machines are in room but who ever likes that coffee eh? Take the short walk to the restaurant each morning and they'll give you free coffee to take back to the room.

Very friendly and accommodating staff.....they gave us aluminum foil and a salt shaker when we BBQ'd dinner on the front lawn. Definitely be back next year in September. Nice time of year for photo's of the lake. Hope that beautiful loon is there next year.

We took a motorcycle trip for a weekend to Barry's Bay. We managed to get the last room at the Ash Grove Inn. It is a great spot with a beautiful view of the water across the road. The rate was reasonable, check in was hassle free, the people were helpful and very friendly. That evening we had a wonderful dinner at the restaurant that is attached to the inn, and breakfast the next morning. Great scenery and an interesting little town.

We spent 2 days at The Ash Grove Inn, for a little break..We took the "romance package".. What a charming place. We stayed in the suite fireplace, jacuzzi, fridge, microwave etc.... The set up is beautiful. High ceiling big screan tv. A bottle of wine was waiting for us in the room. It is super clean. At the restaurant staff is very friendly polite. Service is very fast and the food is absoutely great. Generous portion and delicious. This 2 day stay was very affordable. You can't find better place, price and food anywhere. Can't wait to go back ..... Chantal C.

Room Tip: The suites with or without kitchenette...

This inn has added several new rooms...suites...with lovely bathrooms, central fireplaces, and separate living, dining (with mini-fridge and micro) and sleeping areas. Ideally located just a stone's throw from Kaminiskeg Lake, and providing beautiful views of the lake, this inn has definitely gone upscale. I extended my stay because I enjoyed the inn so much. In addition, the onsite restaurant prepares delicious breakfasts and offers some wonderful mains and desserts.
A real gem

Room Tip: The new suites are well worth the premium cost.

We stayed in the kitchen suite for one night. It was well equipped and we had a quiet night. Pets are allowed in this room so it's convenient. If in search of a motel in Barry's Bay, this is a good one.

I stayed here while visiting a friend. The check in process was smooth and friendly. The staff were helpful. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Good location: easy to find and yet nice to be outside of town. The view looking onto the lake would have been incredible if it hadn’t been raining, so I look forward to going back again someday. Free Wi-Fi was convenient. The restaurant served me a delicious breakfast and sent me on my way with fresh hot coffee and a smile!
