I telephoned this location looking for a place to spend one night in the peak of summer travel, and it was completely booked. We did however stop by to check it out when we were driving past it to get to the place we were spending the night.
The property is forlorn looking. The grounds are poorly kept. There appears to be what looks like a shallow man-made pond in the centre of the front of the property which was empty of water. There was also a cutout painted wooden images of a deer that was falling over.
There were golf carts parked around the roadway leading up to the entrance.
We pulled up to the entrance, wanting to go in and get information, but noticed a sign at the end of the driveway that indicated there was a bar, so we opted to go there first. We drove around the gravel road to the back of the property, where there were a few cars parked and a large Ontario Beer truck there, making a delivery.
We entered through a back door, and followed a sign to the bar area. We came upon workers, doing renovations. One of the men informed us that the door to the bar was locked but the 'girl' would be back shortly.
The 'girl' appeared and went into the bar area from the other side, and unlocked the door. This area consisted of a few nice wooden tables and chairs, a television set, a free standing bar with stools, and a counter behind the bar with liquor bottles on it. The room was rather dark, but there were windows along one wall with dark green mini blinds on the windows. The windows overlooked the swimming pool which appeared to be under construction, as there were piles of bricks lying around. Our bar tender informed us she was from housekeeping but was willing to serve us our beer. There were two other customers there, locals who arrived in the bar along with us. The gentlemen who were enjoying a beer with us both remarked that there was water in the pool which was apparently a first,,,neither one of them have ever seen water in the pool before.
We left the bar, and headed back to the lobby to get the information we had come for in the first place, and to make a reservation for dinner. We were informed by the 'lady' at the desk who was the same person with the keys that unlocked the bar for us, that we didn't need a reservation for dinner, just to show up. ( I never did get her name) Dinner was served between 6:30pm until 8:30pm. I asked her for some literature on the property and all she had to offer was cards about golf specials with the menu for the pub on the back,,,nothing about staying at the place.
It appears as though there is no club house for the golfers. The lobby facility had stacks of golf clubs, score cards etc for the golfers. There did not appear to be anyone looking after the golf carts as there was no central location for them.
We arrived for dinner at the appointed time, and there was another family there having their dinner as well. We were the only two customers in the room. The room was large, at ground level with windows all around on two sides, and we could look out at the parking lot and the trees. There were a dozen large round folding type tables with would seat 10 people. A few of the tables were adorned with little metal lanterns which would hold a tea light. The wax from the stack of tea lights was long ago melted away. A couple of the tables had a pot of plastic greenery in the middle of them. There was also a radio iin one corner playing music.
Our server was a young girl dressed in jean shorts. She offered us drinks and told us the special was chicken fajitas with caesar salad for $14.00. We checked over the menu and opted to go with the special. The caesar salad was fresh, and tasty, but it was jammed into a small bowl with straight sides. Our fajitas arrived barren on a plate, with a side of red salsa in a little plastic cup. There were two of them, held together with a tooth pick. The filling was chicken and grilled green pepper strips, encased in soft, shells which were fresh but flavourless. There was no sour cream, shredded cheese or shredded lettuce.
As indicated by the plaque at the front door, this building was built to house offices. After that an attempt was made to convert it into a vacation property, which I gather after reading other reviews has never been successful. The locals indicated to us that on one occasion it sat empty for a couple of years. Apparently there is new ownership with a plan to rejuvinate the place. Their web site indicates that there are cottages. Perhaps that is in the plans, for the current owners to build a condominium resort with privately owned cottages or homes.
The web site of this property certainly embelishes the establishment. I did not see any evidence of a prosperous operation that resembled their advertisements or web site. It was all rather creepy and mysterious.

Hmmm, where to start... I agree with other reviewers that there is some creative advertising going on here. There were no "shores" visible from the building. And there was no mention of only a 9-hole dried out golf course. I think that golf course has great potential, but a good deal of money needs to be poured into it as well as the entire resort. We went down for lunch at 12:45 and nobody was there - kitchen and pub were dark. We drove many kms through the tiny towns close to the resort looking for a place to eat, but no luck. If you go to this place, bring a stock of food just in case. And if you are a Rogers customer, be prepared to be offline.
PRO: The limited number of staff are very friendly and try their best to please.
CON: Even with the Travelzoo "deal", we felt taken advantage of!

Room Tip: Room 302 has a mini-fridge and comfortable king-size bed.

We stayed for two nights over the weekend. It was one of my worst stays in the cottage country. No Wi-Fi on day one. The service was restored the next day. The internet was so slow, that we decided not to use it. There was no A/C in the room. Ended up spending two sleepless nights. No SPA as advertised. No pool ( closed for repair). TV in the room was not working. Breakfast on the second day had no cereals ( excuse was that they had run out of milk). When we treatened that we will be posting this on Tripadvisor, cereals for two of us miraculously appeared from no where. Lake access is about 15 minutes walk through a wild track or a long dirt road. Don't plan a swim in the lake. The small water front for your use is full of weeds and mud.
When a complaint was lodged with the manager, his reply, ' Our girls were so good to you in the dining area. Why are you complaining about such insignificant things?' When I indicated that his comments will be posted on Trip Advisor, he said that he will flatly refuse having made the comment!
There is a review posted by an earlier guest on July 26. Please read it before booking. They corroborate our experience.

went up for a night with a bunch of guys for a bachelor party. Ken and all the staff were great, helped us out with whatever we needed. We had dinner, food was good. Pub was fun in the evening, and the golf course was a nice touch for sunday before we left. Rooms were nice, comfy. I would definitely go back, everyone had a great time. Was disappointed that the pool was closed, but the beach was a short walk away.
