We stayed here two or three times two years ago. This time we booked a deluxe room but after chechin found the location not suitable for us because we had a fog. Spoke to the front desk and with the help of the manager had our room changed to a Kings Cottage. We paid the difference. I remember the manager from previous stays. She was always very helpful and friendly.
The cottage was clean, spacious and had everything we needed. The grounds were vast with a sports centre where rental of kayaks and other equipment for other activities were available. The view was very nice too. One of our favorite hotels of all time.

Well, let me start with what this resort does right. GOLF! If you are a golfer, you need to pick this resort. The greens were absolutely breathtaking. And, the staff in the hotel is fantastic. The food is good, but not exceptional.

Now the disappointing part. The resort is spread out. If you are with a group, you can potentially be a 5 to 10 minute walk away from the rest of your group, depending on where you are staying on the resort. Not a big ordeal if the weather is nice, but if the weather is less than exceptional, this could be a pain in the rear.

Also, and I cannot stress this enough, just because you put lipstick on a pig, does not mean she is your date tonight! The rooms were clean, BUT rather outdated. The comforters are those poly blend things from the 80's that you would expect in a roadside hotel, not a resort. Carpets are in perma-stain mode. The paint is worn, bathroom is small & the fan in our room did not work. The bed felt damp the entire weekend and on the second day of our stay, it was discovered that the pillow (on the outside now) was filthy! The sheets do not stay in place (they are not fitted) so every morning when you wake, the bed is all over the place. The cottages are much nicer. Real duvets, spotlessly clean, etc.

The management staff do not know how to properly plan events. I still cannot comprehend how a party of 92 people are expected to fit in a room with a max capacity of 52. But, that is the room they placed us in & when we questioned this 2 weeks prior to our groups arrival, the attitude from the event coordinator was basically "take it or leave it".

For the amount of money that you are expected to pay per night, this place is not worth the money. However, if your plan is to golf & spend no time anywhere else on the resort other than the course & the bar/restaurant then I can see the appeal.

We travelled to this resort for a family reunion. It was nice, not top notch was enjoyable. We actually stayed in a cottage, very nice and since I know several people who stayed in the hotel, the cottages are preferable. The cottage was clean, nice décor, fridge, etc. The only complaint was the air conditioner, you either froze or shut it off! The food was average but the ambiance was nice

Room Tip: Stay in the cottages

Stayed 3 nights for a few days vacation. Arrived at 3PM for check in but room was not ready. At 4:30PM, room was still not ready and after sitting in the lobby for an hour and a half, we were ready to cancel our reservation and go elsewhere; however, upon checking at the front desk about our room, the clerk sais our original room was still not ready but that she would upgrade us so we could get a room. We were in the west wing in a nice spacious room with a large balcony. The rooms aren't new but well appointed and clean. Most of all, it was quiet! The location of the resort is great for golfing, walking, tennis, horseback riding. The town of Montague is a 10 minutes drive and offers a few restaurants, pharmacy and groceries. We also enjoyed a day in Charlottetown which is a 35 minutes drive. We did enjoy dinner one evening at the clubhouse restaurant and although they state gluten free options, some contamination must have happened. Breakfast at the Gordon was nice and staff very enjoyable! We would stay again when looking for this type of vacation.

Loved our stay in PEI at the Brudenell Resort. We stayed in one of the cottages, beds were comfortable with lots of room in the cottage. We went for dinner at the clubhouse, the staff was great, they stayed open an hour later than they were supposed to so we could finish watching the Jays game. The Haddock sandwich is the best fish sandwich I have ever had.

We just spent 2 nights of our honeymoon at the Rodd Brudenell & loved every minute. They upgraded us no charge to a junior suite when they found out it was our honeymoon. Both golf courses were beautiful and well kept (as was crowbush where we stayed the night before). The front desk, pro shop & pool bar staff were exceptionally friendly & helpful. Our only complaint was the Club 19 pub was EXTREMELY PAINFULLY SLOW and understaffed. My wrap had way too much mayo, and compared to the rest of the food we've eaten on the island was mediocre at best. We only ate lunch there & weren't risking it again so thankfully there's a couple places in Georgetown with phenominal food AND service (clam diggers)
