It's a relaxed and Boho Chic Moroccan/ Jamaican flavored rooms and cottages. Great location right on the Beach! Moni O'neal is gracious hostess and has a great way of making tourists and locals mix and feel welcome! I rented one of the cabins with an out door shower and the work was simple elegant and bed comfortable . Bikes to rent . Romantic ambiance and bikes to rent ! Plus a juice bar coming next year , painting and yoga workshops! There was a shot gun wedding that took place Andrew property manager and chef for $20 us a head prepares scrumptious meals of local daily catch and jerk chicken and builds huge Bon Fires a memorable event in is beach side resort!

Room Tip: Cabins are soo romantic hear and see ocean!

My friend and I stayed at Katamah for 3 nights at the start of my spring break and it was the perfect way to get right into vacation mode. It was rustic and yet so clean and comfy; like having all the benefits of nature/camping without the hassle of setting up and taking it down or incessant bugs. I instantly felt called to relax by the sound of the waves (the property is right on the beach) and the warmth of Monika and Andrew. I loved that the kitchen was right off the beach as we enjoyed making breakfasts and lunches with the gorgeous view of the clear blue ocean reflected in the mirrors against the stove. I shared interesting conversation with the sweet family that was also staying there at the time. It seems to attract cool people who are from diverse backgrounds and open minded. Part of the charm is the private nature of the rooms combined with the very Jamaican family/community style kitchen and patio area. The whole place has a lovely design and both rooms we stayed in (Habibi and Mounia) were comfortable, clean and well ventilated with screens. We were lucky to be there for the full moon eclipse and it was amazing to sit on the beach at night feeling totally safe stargazing and watching the moon and ocean in awe. I am absolutely going back and excited about the yoga deck they are building. I recommend Katamah to anyone interested in spending time in Treasure Beach. It's a great place to unwind and enjoy some peace and serenity.

Room Tip: Habibi has a nice private bathroom that is adjacent to the room. Mounia's bathroom is a small w...

We stayed at Katamah in the Habibi and Saida rooms last week and had a wonderful experience. We were driving from Ochi and got to Treasure Beach a little past midnight, but Andrew graciously checked us in and helped get our bags to the rooms. The rooms were very quaint with Moroccan themed touches, and quite spacious. The grounds have hammocks and chairs for day time lounging, and there's a communal kitchen. We didn't use it but it looked convenient. Andrew was very helpful in making suggestions, and helped us get a boat to Pelican bar as well. There are restaurants right next door which makes it very convenient, would go back in a heart beat. Thank you for the wonderful stay!

We had a perfect stay in Katamah. Due to late booking, we could only book the Mounia cabin. But when we arrived, Monika could offer us a free upgrade to the Laila room for the first two days of our stay. The last day we stayed in the Mounia cabin, and both were just great. She also gave good directions and tips for the choice of restaurants in Treasure beach. We really liked the relaxed admosphere of the place and had great fun with the playful young dogs. We hope to return here in the future!

My husband and I stayed at Katamah last fall. It was absolutely amazing experience - gorgeous location, perfect weather and peace & quite that we both so longed after our crazy busy life in the city. Our hosts were AWESOME!!! Moni and Andrew were so nice and helpful and Mark is just hilarious!! Andrew, Moni and Mark are great at creating very warm and relaxing atmosphere. We had no issues with privacy as somebody mentioned in one of the reviews. Katamah was like a breath of fresh air after all those standard hotels that are everywhere. Katamah is definitely one of a kind!

We spent 5 nights here over Christmas of 2013 and really loved the place. Treasure Beach in general is for travelers, not tourists--very laid back and quiet, safe and with friendly locals. From what we could tell, Katamah was hands down the best option on Treasure Beach. The place has four rooms and we stayed in the one called Laila, which I think was the nicest, with French doors and two sitting areas--one on the verandah and the other on a patio by the yard. We could hear the waves crashing all night long. Overall Katamah is elegant but rustic, and the woman who owns it, Moni (short for Monica) clearly spent a lot of time creating a place that is elegant but also true to the 'real' Jamaica. The Moroccan furnishings in the rooms captured this aesthetic perfectly. Moni and Andrew both took time to explain local dining options and we became friends with them almost instantly. Because the place is small and intimate, you have no choice but to relax and enjoy the surroundings, free from all the normal tourist-related intrusions. There are several decent places to eat along the beach or there is a full kitchen available if you want to cook your own food. In past years we've been to Negril twice and to Port Antonio. But from what we've seen Treasure Beach is the best destination in Jamaica, and Katamah the best place to stay on Treasure Beach. Without a doubt we will go there again.

Room Tip: Ask for Laila. Wonderful king-size bed, outdoor shower with hot water, french doors and spotlessly c...
