“Great sandy beach, no waves”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 July 2014

This was a nice clean beach - we went on a Tuesday - great family option. Clean and sandy, no wave movement makes swimming and playing in the ocean easy. Much nicer than the Seven Seas beach in Fajardo. There are food vendors, a souvenir shop and you can even rent umbrellas and other equipment should you not want to tote your own. There is a $4+ charge for parking and you can rent lockers or utilize clean bathrooms for $1 each all day. Worth it. Sort of a long walk to the beach from the parking lot if you are toting lots of gear and crazy busy on weekends in the summer. Also has an option for camping ($10) but a permit is required.

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 June 2014

it has nice, calm , clean shores. the facilities have improved over the years and it has enough beach space to find an area dedicated to yourself.
its near great typical Puertorican restaurants and to the only rain forest on the USA.

The luquillo beach is very nice. It's a nice family beach. They sell all kind of goodies and food. It is close to many attractions near San Juan.

“Great Beach to Visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 June 2014

This beach is referred to by several different names but no matter what you call it.....it is a great place to go!!
This is a government beach that is very well maintained. There is a nominal parking/entrance fee and it is totally worth it. A wide beach peppered with Palm trees and a beautiful beach scape as far as the eye can see! If you like walking on the beach, lounging in your chair, playing in the water or any combination, this is a great place to do it. There are clean restrooms, food stands and even a nice souvenir shop! Available on the beach there is an umbrella and lounge chair rental which is worth getting. Bring your cooler, beach toys, sunscreen and camera.....I guarantee you will have a great day! After an afternoon at Balneario we went and parked over by the food kiosks (right around the corner) for dinner. It was yet another great day spent in Puerto Rico!!
