“GrandMare in Mancora the place to be”
Reviewed 20 December 2011

We have been staying in this hotel that we found via internet for 5 consecutive nights and we have enjoyed it. Specially in the Mancora area where there are a lot of hostels and cheap pleaces to stay and dine, we were happy to find this little oasis.
A very nice room what they call a junior suite, with a jacuzzi on the seaview balcony. Good bed, nice plasma tv and a refrigerator in the room.
The staff is very friendly and helpful everywhere.
We enjoyed all of our breakfast, lunches, dinners and drinks in the hotel and we did have a look outside the hotel area. We did not feel very comfortable having dinner outside for just 7 soles, although my wife is Peruvian.
Flying to Talara Airport with Star Peru may be a good way, with just a 1 hour taxi drive of 150 soles.
We will certainly come back

Room Tip: This is a room on the 2nd floor. the ground floor rooms have no jacuzzi and easy access to the pool...

We love going to the beaches in the North of Perú, we had stayed in this hotel before and we loved it. The hotel changed a bit for good and it has an additional swimming pool that is smaller than the main one and also have some big kind of beds very well located when you can just relax in front of the sea and get some tan. The rooms still the same ones from last time with the only difference that they put some bambu decoration on the top of the head of the bed, we thought it was a nice touch, I looked into it I saw a lot of spider webs and I thought it wouldn't be a problem, the next morning my husband and I woke up with a massive spider bite each, my husband had a spider bite on the palm of his right hand and I have a massive one on my right leg...I couldn't believe it! The rooms were clean but not spotless and when you are staying for more than 1 day seems like the housekeeping department don't clean them as well as the first time. The restaurant in the hotel is very good, food is delicious and service is excellent, prices are average. We rented the jet ski and the quad-bike and they were good fun. If we come back next time I make sure we don't get a room that has the bambu decoration!

We rented a bungalow, which hosted three rooms (each with patios), a private central party area and an 'upstairs' with a great view of the ocean and beach chairs. The hotel was beautifully groomed and laid out with bamboo details, very secure, and wonderful for young children if you need a break from sightseeing. My kids loved the air football table, pool table and ping pong table, as well as the infinity pool (although a bit cold) and beachfront access. The food at the restaurant was a little to be desired, but the place was overstaffed with excellently trained staff, some who spoke good English.

We stayed here in January 2009. We were in Mancora and we decided to have a walk by the sea and we found this lovely hotel, the swimming pool is amazing, the service at the restaurant is outstanding, the waiters are very friendly and the food is delicious. The price was very reasonable, the rooms are very clean too. The view from the room was incredible and the whole hotel was just beautiful.I can't wait to come back and stay in this hotel again!!
