“Great experience on paradise...”
Reviewed 27 May 2014

Stayed at MMH for a week on mid May... what can I say? Everything was awesome. The hotel indeed as I was reading is not placed on the best zone of Mancora but the grounds, pool, service and rooms made up for it. Beside the view of the boats and the sunset is just priceless, as the hotel is next to the small port of boats for fishermans in Mancora. Rooms are excellent up to Crowne Plaza or Sheraton standards... clean and quiet. Pisco Sour is very good too and the kitchen is great... go to MMH without any hesitation that will enjoy a beautiful time in it.

Thanks to everyone working there that made our stay so enjoyable.

My husband and I visited Mancora Marina Hotel for 3 days in June 2013. We booked our stay via Groupon Peru which meant we paid half the usual price and the voucher also included a welcome drink and snack. The hotel is located very close to Mancora town which makes it an easy stroll to various restaurants as well as taxi/bus stops to other parts of Northern Peru. The design of the hotel is lovely and the rooms as well as common areas do look exactly as on their website. It is probably one of the best and most modern hotels in the region. The rooms are all white with a beautiful view of the swimming pool and the ocean. The food is very tasty (although on a small side) and cocktails are good. The rooms were cleaned every day and our mini bar replenished. The wifi was available throughout the building and we were able to print our boring passes free of charge. Overall it was a very pleasant stay and I would recommend the hotel to other travellers.

Now the reason I gave it 4/5:
- the breakfast was very limited: eggs, bread, coffee and juices. This is quite poor in comparison with other hotels in South America.
- we had to prompt staff for our welcome drink and the snack on our last day as none was offered to us for 3 days
- toilets in the rooms are only separated by a curtain which gives very little privacy

The location of this hotel is great. On the beach and one of the closest to the town of Mancora making its accesability a strong point with the other beach hotels being a long way down a mangled dirt road.
Unfortunately thats where it ends. On the face it looks like a modern hotel and it charges the prices for what it could be however this place is in desperate need of some maintenance.
A serious maintenance programme coupled to an intensive staff training regime could very easily bring this hotel into the number one spot in Mancora. Until then I fear that its ranking will simply keep dropping down the list as more aggressive competitors take the steps that this place should be.

Here is my honest and unbiased opinion of Mancora Marina Hotel:

First of all the boutique hotel is located right on the beach with spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean! Also, my experience booking our stay was very good and we had no trouble arranging a transfer from the Tumbes Airport to MMH via the hotel. Thanks!

Our room was on the 2nd floor with a great view. The room is an open design, which was basically painted in white. A little variation in paint colors would make the room more appealing. The bathroom was an open design also with a curtain for a door leading to the toilet. Ah, how about a little privacy?? I did like the open design shower. There was a king size bed that was very comfortable. The balcony was a great place to hang out and drink a glass of wine or cocktail while taking in the awesome ocean views.

For your pleasure there is a pool basically right on the beach. It's a great place to relax and enjoy a refreshing dip in the pool. The only down side I discovered was the lack of umbrellas to protect you from the sun. For us non sun worshipers a little extra protection would have been a bonus.

The hotel has a restaurant outside with a cozy lounge area with overhead protection from the sun. The free breakfast was your basic choice of eggs, bread, jams, butter, juice, and coffee. It's enough to get you started. If you choice to eat lunch and dinner there they have a decent selection on the menu. I particularly enjoyed the lomo salteado and ceviche (typical peruvian dishes). I do have to mention that the service is just average and the servers were not very talkative and somewhat hard to hear because they are soft spoken. Plus the service was a bit slow. There was one server who did a good job overall. Sorry, but I don't remember his name.

One extra note, the wifi in the room was weak and don't expect any wifi in the dining or pool areas. An upgrade to wifi would be a good idea, hint!

All in all we had a great experience and would recommend it to others. For those couples thinking about staying here, just remember the hotel is kid friendly. Personally, I could have done without the kids. Thank you MMH!

I recently traveled with a friend to Mancora , looking for comfort/leisure and adventure. I am absolutely happy having chosen Mancora Marina as the host for our vacations.

The Hotel staff is very professional and accommodating. They were available at all times and were always able to meet all our expectations. We requested jet skis and they not only provided them right away, but also broght in the best jet skis you can get!

The food was very good and always served on a timely manner. They did a great job keeping me happy with my meals even though i am a vegetarian.

I definitely will go back soon and strongly recommend this hotel for travelers who are looking for the best place in Mancora.

My Girlfriend and I stayed at the Mancora Marina hotel Oct 19 - 25, 2012 - for a week of relaxing after hiking the inca trail to Macchu Picchu - and that is exactly what we recieved.. This hotel is everything they say it is - with only 12 rooms it is very quiet and relaxing... Beautiful Hotel, lovely rooms, wonderful pool and most comfortable pool side lounge chairs, friendly staff, great breakfasts (try the mix of pineapple and papaya juice - yum), excellent location near the marina (very quiet) - Only a 10 -15 walk on the beach to Mancora or a 2 soles Tuk-Tuk ride...

Although not everyone working there spoke english but every staff member extremely friendly and tried to please us in every way possible. and there are a number of staff who speak english quite well and you may have had to wait to the morning to get a answer.. but we had no problems at all.

The only thing I would like to see the hotel offer (since they have a restaurant) would have a printed breakfast menu so we knew what there was available... The other thing MMH should do is offer a lunch only menu for people around the pool... They only have 1 menu and it is really a dinner menu with little for smaller lunch plates and quite expensive for a lunch! So we walked into town for lunch and a beers everyday for less than $20 soles.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Mancora... We loved our stay at the MMH and would stay there again when we come back to Peru! Thank you for a great vacation in Mancora!
