“Bikes, horses, dogs, kids and walkers”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 April 2014

Convenient stop along the Warburton rail trail for people riding bikes, horses or out walking with their kids or dogs or just laden with a backpack. Bike stalls available and a places to tie up your horse or dog are handy. There are tables and chairs outside under trees, on the verandah or inside a train carriage. Reasonable range of breakfast/lunch food including vegetarian options. Not overpriced. We had a half an hour wait on a busy sunny Sunday so not that bad. Lovely bushland setting which makes you feel like you are further away from suburbia than you really are. Would stop here again.

“Good Cafe right on Warburton Bike Trail”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 October 2013

The Carriage Cafe is a great facility for bicycle riders on the Lillydale to Warburton Rail Trail (the"Warby Trail"). It is at Seville and although you have to be careful to check when it is open (open Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday during morning and early afternoon, but sometimes it is closed during these times in winter especially).

1. Restaurant and Decor - The restaurant is a quaint old refurbished train carriage (ergo the name of the cafe) with a large outside (but covered) deck where most eat. The kitchen and ordering place is the building next door and food is delivered to tables. The ramp to the restaurant is long and accommodates disabilities. It is in a country/woodland setting.
2. Service - The service is friendly and effective (but is a bit slow if busy). The delivery is efficient and correct.
3. Food - The food is OK rather than very good, but it may depend on taste and selections. The serves are generous. The nachos were delicious and very hot. The beetroot, orange and chicken salad was OK, and the lamb wrap was good fare. (see photos).
4. Allergies - The staff understand the issues, and accommodated a gluten allergy well.
5. Wine - Not licenced.
6. Value - The cafe is good value for the quality provided.
