“Heaven In the West!!”
Reviewed 3 February 2012

I'm not sure what to say that others haven't already! This place is a must when visiting Stanthorpe and surrounds. Simply amazing!! Apart from the wonderful studio apartment being incredibly comfortable and private, we loved the small touches that made it extra special. The hosts Cathryn and Ross have thought of everything. We took a Full Day wine tour with Filipos on the Saturday and were greeted by the most informative and helpful tour guide, Tony. We were picked up from right out the front of our Studio and treated to a number of beautiful wineries and places of interest. What a great day we had and to return to our Studio was just the most wonderful end to the day! Please do yourself a favor and book a stay at Azjure. You will not be disappointed!!!!!!

Our plan was to enjoy the 3 hour drive from Brisbane to Azjure and pick up some wine on the way for dinner. Unfortunately the floods and landslips in December 2010 meant all roads were closed. We made a frantic call to our hosts who quickly stepped in to find an alternative route and kept us updated as we set off to drive the long way round. Eventually we arrived after a much less enjoyable trip than we planned.

Again our hosts took charge and sent us off to our cabin with instructions to enjoy a complimentary glass of wine in the enormous spa bath with a view. Paper work could be done in the morning. We quickly started to relax and after a few days of the luxury of Azjure and the delightful scenery of the surrounding Granite Belt region, the trip became a distant memory.

This is quality accomodation in a beautiful region. The owners have the formula just right for couples looking for the outdoors ambience with all of the comforts you could need. You can just relax in your cabin and watch the wildlife on the lawn. If you feel a bit more energetic try bushwalking in the national parks or explore the country roads to discover some decent wineries.

Room Tip: All cabins take advantage of the magnificent view.

We have just had a beautiful 2 night stay at Azjure. This was our 2nd time there and it was even better the 2nd time around.

We also stayed here in July 2010 and it was good to experience the fireplace and the cool Stanthorpe weather. This time it was a completely different scenery with the vines in full bloom and there was even Xmas reindeer on our back doorstep.

The studios are immaculate and relaxing. The spa overlooking the fields with kangaroos, wallabies & deer is breathtaking. There are only 3 studios and they are sufficiently spaced to ensure that the privacy is second to none.

The service is extremely personal and you couldn't ask for more friendly hosts.

The complimentary bottle of wine for our 2nd visit was a nice touch.

We will definitely be going back next time we need a relaxing getaway.

They truly deserve the awards they have won.

We came all the way from Norway to do a three week trip along the east coast of Australia - who would of know that this would be the favorite part of our trip!

The area around Azjure retreat is beautiful with flower meadows and small creeks. From the moment we arrived we could feel our shoulders drop a few inches.

The studio itself is just perfekt: Stylish, comfortable, romantic. And with the the extra attention to details (complimentary chocolats, aromatic oils, fashion magazines), this makes the top three of places I have ever stayed.

We went for the Hearty Breakfast package and ate the most wonderful breakfast on our patio. The beatiful flowers were blossoming, and in the eveing we could watch kangeroos, just a few meters away!

Cathrine, the host, was also very helpful. She booked a wine tour for us (highly recommended) and dinner at the two local restaurants (excellent food)!

Don't miss out!

We've just returned from a two night stay at Azjure. This is a first class establishment - everything was perfect from arrival through to departure. In your large private studio you have a full kitchen, including auto coffee machine. Pillow top bed was super comfy. Bathroom is huge, with twin sinks and a large spa bath overlooking the field. Relaxing in the spa while kangaroos, deer and other wildlife hop around was pure bliss. The outdoor patio was private and we enjoyed having a wine out there in the afternoons amongst the gardens. If you're heading for stanthorpe or ballandean, this is the place to stay. Great value.

Room Tip: All three studios are private. We stayed in studio 2 (in the middle) and it was great, had a lovely...

Great getaway destination and probably the best self-contained accommodation in south-east Queensland.

The accommodation has been purpose built and contains first class finishes and appliances. The style is very modern and clean. Some may prefer a more traditional style of lodging but there are plenty of little touches to give things a warm and cosy feel.

The accommodation is set well back from the road and is very quiet. There is a nice vista and plenty of wildlife to be seen.

We had previously stayed closer to Stanthorpe but enjoyed Ballandean's proximity to some good wineries and the three national parks. The main walks at Girraween are only ten minutes down the road and there a plenty of options, each of which offers something different.

The hosts have compiled some great recommendations for activities etc. We also took the suggestion to try Shiraz restaurant which is just down the road and were glad we did. The menu is contemporary and the food beautifully prepared.

Room Tip: Rooms are the same so no suggestions. All are quiet and private.

My Fiancee and I spent the weekend at this lovely boutique retreat and were blown away by the attention to detail, modern, immaculate, cosy and romantic....we wanted to stay for our honeymoon!!
We have travelled the world and would say it would be very hard to match this standard of accommodation anywhere.
The hosts were so friendly in helping us make our visit to Ballandean and Stanthorpe, one never to forget.
