The views are stunning and the horses graded to help you get your bearings. The guide was particularly caring and the owner helped us by choosing the right horse for our levels. If you can ride then there is certainly the opportunity to get going but for me the luxury was not going like something in the Melbourne Cup

We went on a morning ride in early June 2011 on a half price special ($30NZD pp for 1hr). It was a small group of only 4 of us, and they catered for everyone's riding ability. The horses were all calm and well-trained and the guide was excellent. The scenery is outstanding and this is a great way to enjoy the beauty of Hanmer Springs. Highly Recommended!

A friend an i had the wonderful experience with hanmer horses. We arrived on a quite day and were lucky enough to take advantage of the lack of people and got a ride with just the two of us an our guide Melissa. We are both inexperienced riders but it was made very simple and they seemed to give us horses to suit our level of ability. Melissa was great and gave a great tour of the area. The scenery was breathtaking. We loved getting our photos taken by the guide in the middle of a sheep field,
The dogs bob and spot and the gorgous old sheep why just lounged around the stables made the morning. Would definatly recommend these guys :) Thank- you

Of our group of six "mature" friends, only one had previous experience with riding a horse. We signed up for the 2 1/2 trek and what a great time we had. Jean and her girls made sure we learnt the basic skills before setting off, and Melissa was very attentive and friendly the whole way through our trek through streams, up and down hills, through bush and over farmland. Great morning out - and wonderful views of Hanmer Springs

Lovely scenic ride on great horses. I wanted to write this review because of previous reviews criticising Hanmer horses. I have been on lots of horse rides and treks and found the attention to safety and detail the best I have come across. Our guide was excellent and although we were all experienced riders she spoke at the level of the least experienced rider with great attention to safety. We had a chance to trot and canter too.
