this is our second stay and there wont be a third! We stayed in a lovely looking one room wooden unit. It cost $185 for our family of 3. So we were all sleeping in the one room i.e. the lounge. We had one tiny noisey fan heater about the size of my outstretched palm. It was -4 degrees! There were no electric blankets on the beds. The ceramic tiles in the bathroom were so frozen we had to put shoes on to go in.
We had to turn the tv volume up over the noisey fan heater, and couldnt run the heater while sleeping due to the noise. I cannot understand in an alpine village why there is no heating.
The walls were thin between units and we were woken nice and early (grrrr) by neighbours opening cupboards, talking, tv, laughing. Normal early morning stuff, but insufficient noise installation between units.
It is in a great location near thermal pools and food places. But it was way overpriced and our most expensive accommodation of our touring trip. We did stay another night at another place in Hanmer so check my review for that.

Lovely big room and spotlessly clean. Good bathroom and linen. Comfy beds. Would recommend. Close to Springs and easy walk to shops and restaurants. Parking at door. June and her husband are delightful people.

There seems to be a difference of opinion as to whether this motel is officially graded as 3.5 or 4.5 star. My vote is for 3.5
It seems to follow U.S.A. motel practice in that while tea and coffee facilities are in the unit, there are no cooking or washing up facilities in the studio unit in which we stayed. A communal microwave oven is available in the laundry, but we did not use this. There is a good choice of eating facilities within easy walking distance. Our unit was quite clean and spacious, but there are signs of wear and tear e.g. a frayed carpet at the entrance to the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable, and the motel was very conveniently located near the hot pools. We were given complimentary towels for use at the pools,
The bathroom is much larger than normal, as is the shower box. However, there does not appear to be any heating, which would make the room an icebox during the depths of a hanmer springs winter.
The reception lady was pleasant, and gave us a slightly reduced room rate of $110 to counter the motel opposite which was advertising $100 . We appreciated the car washing facility.
Overall, a pleasant night and reasonably good value for money.

This motel is very clean, quite spacious and reasonably priced.
The reception staff are very friendly and helpful.
The position of the motel is situated only a few minutes walk from the thermal pools and places to eat. Very happy with our experience. We would stay here again and would be happy to recommend this motel to anyone staying in this area. Thank you.

We choose this place because of it's closeness to the hot pools.

It looks nice from the outside but inside, wow. The shower head was split, did not work properly and was dirty. Dust was on the windowsill, toilet roll holder and light fittings.

The carpet in the bedroom/dining area was stained and had cigarette burn marks in it. The carpet very grubby and not clean.

We also ended up with party neighbours, which made the whole stay quite unpleasant.

Yes they give you towels for the pools, most do here, and yes the hosts were friendly, as most are here.

Nothing special and definitely not worth the money given the other options in Hanmer!!!!!!!

The hosts of this complex and extremely helpful and friendly. The motel unit is large, comfortable bed, dining table as well as comfy chairs to relax in. There was a lovely little terrace outside that we could enjoy the sun. The unit was spotlessly clean.

We chose to stay at the motel, as we'd been recommended to visit Hanmer Springs by a friend. It was very well placed in the middle of the town, almost opposite the thermal baths complex. We were made very welcome by the owner, who leant us extra towels to visit the baths. Sadly, the walls of our room could have been thicker, as we could hear the inhabitants of the next door one taking a shower and their TV. That being said, the place was spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable.
